I have more respect for someone riding a "run-down" beater ("insert bike make here") than I will ever have for someone who follows that philosophy!
My bike has a bent crash bar, scraped up parts and heaven forbid, "rust", and a very nice bug collection to boot!... I'm heading out for a 600 mile ride this weekend with fellow rider's...I'm pretty sure nobody's gonna be "magically" transformed for the better because of their choice of ride, nor do I believe we're gonna follow a trailer just so we can arrive with "that guy"....
