The gasket does NOT seal the light lens, preventing condensation. The gasket is actually split (gapped) at the bottom to allow moisture to escape. If you have excess condensation that will not leave after a period of time, make sure the drain (the gap in the gasket)is open. Trapped moisture can lead to problems.
