What is the "on-center" measurement for bars that will fit the TBA? I'm looking at a new set which measure 3 1/2, which are kind of a T-Bar style. Need to figure out if they'll fit or not.

I believe it is a 3 1/2" center-to-center for the riser holes. It should be easy enough to pull the riser caps off, set the bars aside, and take a tape measure to it. Typically there isn't a small difference in width with the T bars. Usually it's 3 1/2" or 4"...something like that. IOW, it isn't going to be 3.65".

I thought that was right, You just hate to pick something up and have it be like .25 too wide or something.

Here's a thread with some Carlini bars that Britrover put on, and they're 3 1/2" centers.

Glad I could help out. Found it using the search engine, which can be a PIA at times due to slow loading, but if you wait it'll usully get you what you're looking for.

Those do look great. I was looking at hem and the Arlen Ness Fat Bob bars. Any idea if the stock cables will work with these bars or do we need to get extensions? I notice on the pics that his lines were braided.

According to the Carlini website, those Super Sweep bars come in 1 1/4" and 1 1/2". So you'd either have to mod your handlebar controls somehow, or get different controls like Britrover did since our bars are 1".

If you're interested in what Britrover has, I'd PM him since it doesn't look like he reads the board on a regular basis.

I think they taper to 1" though for the controls.

I'd certainly e-mail them to verify that.

The bars are reduced to 1" at the handles for our grips to fit. Britrover explained to me that the stock cables work fine with these bars. He did say the stock grips are too long though and extend past the end of the bars and Drag Specialties sells grips to fit. All for now. I will get on this project right after Biketoberfest is over and let you know how it is progressing and any more pitfalls.

I got mine yesterday. Sweet set of Carlini Slick-Back. $450 bars for $155 on ebay, denniskirk scratch and dent. In regards to old Dennis Kirk, they blow. I can deal with scratches to the chrome. I'm not a Harley guy after all and I'm not "showing" my bike anywhere but parking lots. The bars came in and the there is a HUGE dent just ahead of the right taper (where the grip goes.) The front "should" be mostly covered by the master cylinder, but the back part will be staring at me forever.

They'll still work, and saving $300 (well not really as I'd never pay $450 for handlebars) is still a good deal. But I wouldn't say their description was honest, true, or even close.

But they'll still look great!

Post a pic when you get them on there. Let us know how well your handles and hardware mount on them too.
