I'm glad you stuck with the Metzlers, Barry.
As stated earlier in the thread here, they stick like glue in the rain. I replaced my first rear at 12k last December, and I already have more than that on the new one again. Looks like it can go a bit longer this time. I won't push it all the way to the wear bars, either.
The rubber compound has a lot to do with the wet road handling, but so does the water channeling ability of the tread design.
Rain grip matters a lot to me.
