Hey all,

Looks like Jenny and I are going to do this in one day instead of the traditional overnights. Too much stuff going on and I've got a gig to play on the 14th so that makes it a little tough.

Anyhow, kickstands up here around 5:30 or so AM on the 13th so if anyone wants to ride out of Buffalo or do the last three hours from here with us, let us know.

Cool...and if it's just the two of you, or just you, I do have a spare room for you to flop in so you don't have to get on your bike at 4:00 am. And, depending on how many I could probably do the Pat gig and put people on the floor and the couches.

Oh yes I will be going. Coming in from the west [blue water bridge Sarnia area]. I am still hoping John [wojo] to come with me. Man the perdicted weather sure has changed though. Looks like cold rain. Nice up to Wed. and then the temperture going to drop.

If I end up going...look for a Red/Black Speedmaster with Red/Black Saddlebags...but if it's 6 Celcius & Rain, I'll probably pass

Yes, we will all go next year Rich. As for next Friday, I will keep a look out for you. Didn't see any pics in your Photo Post. Check mine out so you can recognize me amongst the other zillion bikes. Wonder how many Triumphs will see there.

Hi Willy, yeah, one of these days I'll get some pictures up on the site. I'm really hoping the Weather is wrong for Friday (they usually screw it up anyway).

Yes Rich, Ray is quite excited [so it appears] about coming in the following year. Actually gave him another place other than Rockys to rent a bike. I would be more than pleased if us 4 could go. Ray, John[wojo] and myself. Not sure if any others are close by. Lots of time to plan anyway.

Folks,

Just a heads up here. Jenny and I haven't made any final decisions yet...however. The weather is now for a high of 40 and mixed snow and rain. Call us wimps if you want, but if that doesn't change to something a little more sensible, I doubt very much that we'll be proving we're 2%-ers by riding for seven hours so we can stand around for four hours freezing our as*es off watching other people freezing their as*es off wathcing US freeze for the sake of a little extra street cred.

At some point, there's a trade off between "I'm tough, I was at the !0/13/06 Dover, here's my Polar Bear Patch to prove it" and "Dude, the 10/13/06 Dover sucked. We froze our as*es off".

Let's see where this goes.

This is the one I've been working with...Not that I consider any weather report to be anything other than somewhere between magic and guessing...

Ok Folks,

Given the near whiteout conditions and the snow falling at about an inch an hour, Jenny and I are going to forego it for this year. Let's look forward to the next one...c'est la vivre.

Hi Ray, I didn't go...3 degrees Celcius, very windy & possible rain. It's close to 3 Hours away from me. I'm not as hardy as I once was , so I passed. Will hit the one in July next year.

Hi Rich

Hoping to be there myself next year, it will depend on the money situation as we move house in a few weeks so it will be tight, but if I can make it I will

I think I would of took a rain cheque on it as well (Excuse the pun)

It was way to cold and Fort Erie (just north of there) got hit by a freak snow storm. I hear three people in New York state died.

Well boys I survived the 25 anniversary of Friday the 13th. The worst weather conditions that I have ever experienced in my mind while on the rode. If I would of went alone I would say I would not have gone. The cold wasn’t a real factor for me. It was the driving winds. Riding on an angle pushed sideways back and forth wasn’t fun.

That is not to say I didn’t enjoy myself. I traveled with 7 other bikes. 2 T100’s, another America, Daytona 1200, and 2 other smaller bikes driven by their wives, 650 single cylinder Marauders I think.

Total trip to Port Dover from my place was 3 hours one way.

The morning was good. Traveled ½ hour in the sunshine to meet up with one couple and rode for an hour gazing at the huge dark cloud which was to the right of us along the coast with the sun shining brightly above it. Met up with the others at a residence for coffee and donuts and headed out. All was good until just outside Dover when the sunshine ran out and the rain came with driving force.

I would say there was an estimation of 7000 bikes. Usually as I have been told. 50,000. Stayed for an hour, grabbed a bite to eat at a local diner and left.

Funniest thing I saw was a 70-year-old man tanned up real nice wearing a thong and boots [nothing else] riding an old Honda.

The trip back was much worse. All rain and wind. First time out on the 13th so I would say it was an experience.

Ugh, that guy still wore that at this time of year? If you've been to Dover you've seen this guy. Strangely the crowds part for him, go figure?
