I can only assume that you good folks are using premium gas in your scooters as I do. Well, yesterday I was changing pilot jets in the carbs to 45s, and after taking the bowls off, I noticed that the bowls had quite a bit more dirt than usual (I've had the bowls off numerous times experimenting to find the correct size main jets). I can only attribute this to the possible low turnover rate of premium fuel at gas stations, what with the costs going up. Anyone else experienced this? H.P.

No, but truthfully have gotten outta the bowl-pulling game for a while now. Guess you could theoretically install an inline filter after the fuel tap, as long as the thing wouldn't present too much back pressure against the gravity feed.

Here in the UK we can get unleaded (95 octane) and super-unleaded. I guess that super-unleaded is the equivalent of premium?

I've always used unleaded and the bike runs absolutely fine. When I bought it the dealer said not to use anything except "normal" unleaded. Seeing as unleaded is £3.75 a gallon, and super-unleaded costs even more I'm happy to stick with that!

Nope, only run 89 octane as the book says. Runs just fine, and didn't see any improvement on a long trip once when I decided to run high octane. Gas is too expensive anymore to pay for extra if extra doesn't give any better performance. Also, there is an inline filter in the T between the Carbs, right inside the fuel line.

Same as Greg. 89 as the book says. No problems yet (1 yr, 11k).
