I was looking at posts about nology coils and i found the one where you mentioned having bought them but hadn't installed them yet. I couldn't find any posts where you finally reviewed them. So i was wondering what you feel about them now that you must have been using them for a while? I'm thinking about getting a pair but haven't seen any reviews on them other than roundslides, so i'd like to hear your evaluation if you don't mind. thanks.

I went with the full meal deal, Nology coils, Nology wires and NGK Iridium plugs.

Love them. I have never had my bike on a dyno, so I don't have any real numbers to pass along however...
The bike starts up quicker. Don't have to choke it as long as I use to. The butt dyno says that there is more power and better throttle response. Plus, my gas mileage has gone up.

If I were to get the full meal deal as it were, I would be doing it for more efficient, smoother, and better running, not for power... Sound about right?

Yes, Exactly, but you also get a bit better power too.

I wondered if it made a difference. Sounds like it. Thanx.

I already have the NGK Iridium plugs. Any thoughts on how just adding the Nology wires (with the build in capacitors) without the Knology coils would improve the power? I just switched back to a 17 tooth sprocket from my wornout 16 tooth sprocket and miss the better accelleration, but like the lower revs on the road.

Have you tried side gapping with this setup?

I have no idea not having tried them yet, tho the whole setup is on the way as i speak. But if you go to the nology site there are magazine articles and one of them has HP/torque charts that show the dyno results on a harley with the stock wires and about 10 aftermarket brands including nology wires. The nologys scored high tho not the highest. But the best few showed over 2 HP gain over stock wires. I assume it depends on everything else tho too, because your ignition is only going to be as good as the worse link in the chain so i think some may notice it and other will not. I went with both wires and coils because i wanted the ignition to be as reliable and beefy as possible whether or not i see much benefit.

by the way, anyone have any suggestions as far how big a gap they've found works good with the nology coil/wire setup?
