I saw the most unusual bike or car/bike today. I viewed it from a distance and for a short time, so there are no details. It had a regular bike two wheel configuration in the center and outriggers with a wheel on each side. I haven't ever seen anything like it before.

There used to be a ironhead Sportster with one of those setups that someone rode to the Tulare run the last few years before they shut it down. From the usual condition of his center tire, I think driving traction would seem to be a real problem. On the other hand, If you are heavily into burnouts, you just find a couple of bumps the right distance apart and you can smoke the tire until all the rubber melts off.

A local Honda/Suzuki/Ducati dealer here in Denver actually stocks bikes with training wheels...

of course, they're on little tiny dirt bikes for small kids.

I believe training wheels would be a bad idea for a new rider to learn with. Better some stout crash/drop bars so the new rider can learn balance and control and not destroy the bike when they drop it.

Training wheels might give a false sense of security.

Maybe I'll add the training wheels when I turn 70! Then I'll really fit it with all the other Florida drivers down here! Let's see, I could add the limiter kit as well so that it would go real slow...maybe get a couple of those bright reflective flags to mount on the fenders to increase my visibility! And a bumper sticker that says "I'm spending my kids inheritance!"

yeah Phil i guess you are right that rigg and a new rider wounldn't mix too well, i did kinda have this vision of maybe getting the kit and like a 250 rebel for the mrs.
Instead what i think i'm gonna do is sign her up for the basic riders coarse. Shes a great passenger so she understands lean and balance, it's that "Clutch thingy" that
gets her.

If you can, check out the Rebel and have your wife sit on it. I believe she will be pleasantly surprised with the weight and balance. Another nice thing about the Rebel for new riders is everything is rubber isolation mounted. My wife loves hers.

The best thing? The other day she says "This bike is starting to feel a little small"

Oh yeah....
