Specialty Spares Long Cannons, pretty good bang for the buck. Nice sound, good fit & finish. I think they improved performance somewhat, I just wanted a better sound. Almost any pipe or mod to an existing pipe should yield a slight HP increase.

You want to heard? Sceptres. They cost more than the Specialty Spares, but like most things in life: you get what you pay for.

I think they are a little loud for my taste, but to each his own, they do sound good! First time I heard them, I was in the dealer when they were bringing a bike around from the back outside, just idling... could FEEL it inside the building!

Find out where Mikesr's hole saw is. Free, loud, cool.

I have a 1-1/2" holesaw sitting in the garage. Shoot me an address and it's on the way. Mike Sr.

I'd say if you want louder and don't care about performance, remove some stock baffles. It's FREE.
Otherwise, there are serverl wonderful sounding pipes out there, and they will ALL give you some performance boost.

Mike, I would like to try the hole saw or would it be easier just to post the drawing and specs?

tatkin,
I fired mine up when mufflers were off - about the same as scepters. Save your money, just take your pipes off.
Dennis
p.s. i am being sarcastic. You have several good options - the JCWhitney turnouts for about $130-$150US w/shipping would be a good choice - and they come in 19" or 30". Check with Jango.

I took (busted) the insides out of my pipes. I took a solid one inch rod that was about 4 feet long and ran it down the inside of the pipes. This took all the inside out. Sounds cool but I needed to rejet it afterwords. It was free and cheep and it still has the "stock" look to it!
Good Luck!

Specialty Spares are one of the best upgrades I've made to date. WHY...
1. They come with a GREAT jet kit that WOKE the bike up! 2. They sound DEEP & throaty like an old school Triumph (can be made to sound like a small block Chevy meets HD) 3. Baffles & packing come out with one screw so you can "adjust" your sound. No others offer this much versatility. 4. Quality chrome & welding (only one member that I know of had an issue with this so far) 5. Quick shipping & delivery
Highly recommended!

The Epcos on my America aren't quite as loud as the near straight pipes on Piglet. Thereare 2 car alarms down the street that the Triumph doesn't set off that Piglet does.

I'll tell ya, without doing much this was a good mod. Back plate in exhaust out, 3 holes drilled in next one, air screw out to 2.5 turns. It dosen't sound that loud when you are sitting on it but going under an overpass and you know it is making noise ... I think I want the 18 tooth engine sprocket now ...
