Becky,
Thanks for the offer, but I was already gone on the road. I got in Flagstaff kinda later than expected anyway, and just got fuel and moved on to Winslow to spend the night.
I made the trip and back home. A lot of wind most of the way there, especially through NM. I did manage to miss the main storms in all directions, only hit a sprinkle for about 15 minutes coming home leaving Pecos, TX. As soon as I passed the Great Divide on I-20 there was near clear skies and the wind was all but gone. I had a great trip and visit with family and rode 9 days of the 3 weeks traveling to the different destinations. I did have to change my trip home, had to thread the needle through the storms and wind events. I had to take the Interstate most of the way home. The only real nervousness I had was just past Pecos I hit reserve at 122 miles (pretty good head wind) with no near town ahead. I turned around (illegal turn in the median through the grass on I-20) and made it back to Pecos. I filled up at the first station and it took just under 4.4 gals. I must have been running on fumes and the head wind I was bucking was pushing me back was the only reason I made it (whew!!!).
