Call me a performace junkie, but I just want to get every little thing I can from my 790cc engine. I'm wondering if I were to disconnect the carb heaters, would that take away any kind of parasitic drag off of the electrical system? If so could I leave them disconnected year round (FL resident)? Thanks in advance for any advice!!

No. The carb heaters don't draw any significant current, certainly not enough to have a measurable effect on engine output. They also plug into a thermostat, so if it's not cool enough for them, they don't turn on. Even if they WERE on you'd probably get more of an engine performance boost by wearing a streamlined bicycle racing helmet and squatting over the 'bars.

If you want to boost performance electrically, get the Nology coils and wires from NewSpeedmaster.com and while you are at it pick up a pair of NGK Iridium spark plugs.

Ok, it was just a thought to throw out there. Although... the spandex and the bicycle helmet sound tempting!
