Last year I bought Linda a used 2003 250 Honda Rebel it only had 42 miles on it. The guy bought it for his daughter and she rode it around the apartment building before deciding it was not for her.

The guy keep it inside under a cover in his shop where my buddy who was making a delivery saw it and told me about it.

Linda, took the MSC in June and passed and rode the Honda all last summer it now has a little over 500 miles on it and she wants a bigger bike for this year so I'm going to sell it.

The bike does not have a scratch on it and looks like it just came off the show room floor.

Anyone have any idea what I should ask for it, or should I use it as a trade in, whatever I end up buying for her I would like to get some type of warrenty with it.

I say sell it outright if possible. I would check ebay and cycle trader for a good idea on what its are worth. Suprisingly Rebels seem to hold their value pretty well - maybe cause they start off so cheap to begin with.

Probably slighly less than you paid would be fair. If you weren't robbed, it's probably worth as much or very near what you paid as 500 miles isn't but about 3 tanks of gas and maybe an oil change from new.

Think of it as your gift to another aspiring, up-start rider.

When you decide on a price, let me know what that price is.

You can go to kbb.com and get used motorcyle prices. I use it when I am looking for a used car and when I bought my America. It is a fairly good site and at least it will give you an idea on what it would sell for.

We just sold Janet's 2006 Rebel with 1700 miles, perfect shape. Sold it to a friend for $2600. Late the night before, I put it on the Miami craigslist for $2850. Sent my buddy an email in the AM and almost before I hit ENTER, he responded "I'll take it!!". By lunchtime, I had three calls from craigslist viewers asking about it and all would have jumped on it for the price.

I'd bet you can get somewhere in the $2500-2700 range for yours if it's darn near prefect and with that low mileage. Spend a bit polishing and cleaning and you will definitely command top dollar.

Average price on them seems to be $2000. It appears they all have low miles and are in good shape. They seem to be the go to motorcycle class bikes then sell em. I wonder why they look pretty cool and prolly do 70ish.

Cycletrader has a page of 03s for reference.

Priced a couple at the Honda Dealer in Jacksonville, FL last week. $2500-2700, clean w/ <2000 miles. Sell it on your own, cause the dealer'll want to make at least a 1K profit on a resale.

I have seen them for as little as 1000 around here. Hold onto it until spring. This is great time to buy a bike but a horrid time to sell. hit Craigslist, and chain it to a tree out front. If your on the right type of road or you have a buddy on the right type of road this will work the best. The buyer you looking for is a mid 20-40s woman who hasn't ridden before, and knows nothing about bikes.
In your ad play up, light, cheap new, dependable and the same bike they just took their msf course on.
I don't know if you ever looked at those savages we were talking about at the northeast, but there is still one for sale in lowell on craigslist, its been at 1500 for months. Bet you could get it for a grand.

Oh yeah, winter. I forgot about that. If I was up there, I'd hang onto it until spring also....

I forgot how cute the Rebels are. Plus what... about 65 mpg?

I looked up the Kelly Blue book value on my 2002 TBA. Trade in is $3430.00 and average suggested retail is $4985.00. Trade in value stinks.
