New one for me....
If I click on certain posts on the forums I get blasted right out of the site, back to AOL's welcome page (spare me the AOL diatribes..)...
Yota's Carb's post, Greg's almost not going to Georgia post, and one of Triumphant's posts....

I have to sign on again and if tried again I get booted big time...

I'm sure it's something on my end, but any idea what? I haven't changed a thing as far as security goes...
Checked for adware, virii, etc.. I'm clean and green.

It's a little annoying not being able to share my wit and wisdom on ALL posts...

Seems you already know your problem!

"(spare me the AOL diatribes..).."

Suggest a regular ISP (who'll be cheaper than AOL) and the Mozilla FireFox browser. Works for me!

Hi Grump,
Since I got DSL, I've noticed I can click on a thread and I will get it but sometimes it will be stale - meaning not the latest posts. I refresh the screen (F5) and it will update. I find myself refreshing my screen more often. I try to sign onto ebay, and I get the message that my browser is rejecting cookies - I go back to the sign on page, refresh, then sign on with no problem. Maybe it's the firewall or other security software. I guess we're just outdated by our own technology?

None of these issues here with Win XP, Cable Modem (local ISP) and IE. Wife has Mozilla Firefox on her machine which appears to load pages much faster than my IE.
Occasionally I get "you cannot do a search now" when clicking on Active Topics, not sure why that happens.

Hi Grump,

Try this....

Go to My Home and then to the bottom of the page. Click on My Cookies in Maintenance and then click Expire cookies.

Log back in.

Might fix the problem...

Phil,
Thanks for the tip, but that didn't work.

I recently activated a pop-up blocker which is part of System Mechanic (good software, btw..) and it seemed to be the culprit. I disabled it and can now access those posts that sent me away before.

Thanks again....

A lot of these pop-up blockers have a key sequence to temporarily disable it (Google toolbar uses CNTRL-click for a per instance disable of its pop-up blocker, for example)

Grump,

AH-HA! My diabolical plot to insure that I, Dwight, will be the preeminent dispenser of, as you stated, "wit and wisdom", is WORKING!
NYAH-AH-AH!!!

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)
