Has anybody had a problem with their BA running out of gas after consuming only 3.0-3.5 gallons from their 5 gallon tank? At first I had a tank vent problem which was fixed but, right at roughly 3 gallons (120-130 miles), the bike quits and I shift to reserve. BTW, I have a 2006 model. Runs perfectly otherwise.
AI removed, snorkel gone, added saddle bags and Triumph Off Road pipes!

If you are switching to reserve at that mileage, it sounds about right to me. I think I have about a gallon of gas for reserve. Gas mileage varies greatly dependent on many factors.
BA has Freak, 160mains, 44pilots, air mix3 1/2 to 4 turns, BUBS dresser dogs. Never had more fun on any bike - 2nd bike 2008 RIIIT

I have an 06 too and that's about what I get around town... I got up to 144 on a steady motorway cruise... not blatting it just a steady 75 mph ish... Then I've been late meeting up with the Brit guys, blatted it, and got to 115 and run out. Gone on reserve should I say. A lot is riding style, the easier you are on acceleration, the less gas used...

That's just about right to switch to reserve. Our tanks are 4.4 gals.

That explains everything. For some reason, I thought I had a 5 gallon tank. I'd better read the owner's manual again! Thanx!

even if the tank holds 5 gal. you would find it difficult to force that much gas into it. there will always be the air gap above the filler. I would guess about .5 gal of space you could not fill.
