Just asking for assistance installing Triumph light bar. Purchased in the 50% off on site listed in general thread. It looks easy to attach the unit to the front end. How hard is connecting the electrical? Does the unit come with a separate on/off switch?

The on/off switch is built into the housing of the lefthand light. I think there are a few members here that have moved the switch to their console. (I've been too lazy, but will probably do the same).

The hardest part of the install for me was snaking the wiring through the the lightbar itself. Otherwise, you just bolt the sucker on (very simple)...and then plug her into the socket hiding under the tank.

One other hint - make the wiring to the switch on the left hand bucket is tucked in good away from the bulb - otherwise you will wonder why you don't have any running lights..........

good point...forgot about that...lots of blown fuses.

I bent the contacts of the switch for better clearance...and then covered with some electrical tape to prevent shorts.

There's a Triumph Light Bar schematic in the tech vault as well as a fuse block layout. As stated in the previous posts, if you leave the on/off switch in the left lamp shell you might possibly blow fuse #8 if any of the switch connectors come in contact with the grounded shell. I didn't add any insulation (although that's probably the best way) I rotated the switch until the contacts were clear of the lamp shell and tightened the mounting nut.

I agree, the hardest part was fishing the wire through the bar. I'm thinking of re-doing mine by pulling out the wire from the bar on the left lamp and relocating the two relay control wires to the tank console. Makes a lot more sense.
