Folks that have it, what do you think of it, is the 34 watts bright enough, and is it somewhat easy to install. All input appriciated, well almost all input.

Wow, doesn't anyone have one of these? I like the compact look and the signal relocation but I figered I'd see what others thought of it before I bought it. Oh well.

Terry, Read this link. Seems you have to make a trip to the shack of radios and buy a relay...

Wiring up a relay is real simple once you get it on there. Bunches of us have done it, so if you just search "relay" you should find the info you can apply to that lightbar.

Snert I do have one, but have not had much a chance to use it at night. As for people seeing me in the daytime, it is MUCH better. I have a short write up with links for how I wired it with the relay here I hope this helps, it does give a lot more lighting. Soon I will take it for an after dark ride and see how it helps on the many corners around here.

Benny, I've never wired anything with a relay yet but there is enough info on here that I think anyone could do it.
ooooya, When I searched your post I copied your destructions and wiring diagram and I think thats the way I'm going to do it. I like the Triumph wiring harness route but thats just more money for the same results. Now just waiting for it to arrive and we'll see how it goes.

Hi Guys,
So I guess what I have is a good ol combo question:
When I bought my bike last August I had my dealer order the Rivco from Brent and trade it out for the Triumph lightbar they had installed. In one of the links above it sounds like the Rivco directions say to connect it to the 'console lights' (our speedo lamp) which is what they did. They mounted a metal toggle switch on the side of the headlight bucket which is what I think they do to mount up the Triumph light bar.
So my 5A fuse blows every time I switch them on. Awhile back I asked what to do and you guys told me to get the Triumph lightbar wiring harness. My dealer shipped it out last week.
If I get this now it already has the relay wired up in it? Once I get into the bike will it be obvious what to do on the Triumph side of things? (Who knows what the dealer's guy did...) I know my way around a wrench, but this will be my first real bonding time with my bike.:) Yes I have the AI kit to do at the same time!
BTW Snert: I haven't ridden much at night (Because the lightbar doesn't work! ARGH!) but the quality of the unit itself is great. It's milled from a solid chunck of metal. I got it because I wanted to relocate the pumpkins and because I thought that the sheet metal tabs on the ends of the Triumph bar looked kinda cheesy.

John I did not use the OME wire harness. I tried but could not figure it out. When I hooked up directly to the battery I used a 15amp inline fuse. I don't know if this helps or not, just what I did.

Thanks, your diagram seems pretty clear too. I'm locked up with work the next few weekends so I'm just trying to gather as much info as I can so I know what to expect before I get into it.
I've already paid for the Triumph harness including shipping, so I'm expecting to try to use it if I can figure it out. Does anyone have a copy of the install directions for the Triumph lightbar?

Even easier is to buy the Triumph wiring harness. It includes the plug-in for the relay. The part number is A9930037. That way you also do not have to slice, dice or splice any factory wiring.

Soren even if you don't use the OEM harness you do not really have to hack up the factory wiring. I tried to get the directions for the Triumph light bar wire harness but no one seemed to have it. I am electrical challenged and could not figure out how to make it work. No holes in the light bucket and only taped one wire under the dash with a supplied connector that came with the light bar to run to the relay and switch mounted on the dash. The connector fit right in an open plug that was hot only with the key on, so did not hack that up either.
