Just to remind you what home's like, I'm in Brisbane and the thermometer above my computer's reading 38C/100F.

Think I'll go for a nice ride to cool down.

I don't when we'll get to ride in Denver again. I usually don't go this long without a ride! Its been a month, we usually have a chance to ride quite a bit in the winter. Global warming must have skipped Colorado!

jj,
It was 18°F in the carport this morning and my new AGM battery just didn't have the guts to spin my crankshaft through the molasses in the bottom of my engine. I tried for 3-4 minutes to start it but gave up and took the cage, wearing my leathers. Everyone at asked me if I rode my bike and I told 'em I tried. The HD crowd always says stuff like, "Boy, you're tougher than I am!". To which I reply, "I know".
I guess even in North Alabama, the 20W50 Amsoil is a wee bit thick for winter. It's up to 40°F now - let's go ride!

Just come back from a early morning coffe run down to the bay, 26deg and perfect riding conditions.
Must be nice to scoot over to USA for 3 days work, by the week end it will be around the high 30's so you'll enjoy getting the bike out.

Always ride with care be 100% switched on.

In Michigan folks ride in t-shirts and a vest when temps hit the 50's F.

In the 40's F we put on jackets and a vest with gloves.

In the 30's F we put on long johns under our jeans.

Another few hundred miles south of your current location, you'd think we were in a blizzard for cripes sake. The lead-in stories on the news last night were all about how cold it was going to be (mid-high 40s F ), how to take precautions, and how to use a space heater.

Just in case you frustrated northern hemisphere moto-psycho-ists were feeling sorry for yourselves (me too). I spoke with a friend today who lives about 3 1/2 hours upstream an elevated valley, near Georgetown lake (called a cold sink ). When the last cold snap came through they had an actual temp of about -44dF. That sounds coooold to me.

On the other hand, I live in the so-called "banana belt"
