I'm tired of winter already. I'm tired of the cold and the snow that's on the ground. I'm tired of off-topic posts. I want to see some new country. I'm ready to go ride.
Here's a reminder of what we are here for.

Happy New Year Simmer, and to everyone else, too.
Thanks. My bike was pretty new then, and basically stock. All Triumphs are nice looking, aren't they?
My bike is sitting out in the garage, looking all lonely, and I'm sitting in the house, getting cranky for being couped up inside. I keep watching weather.com, looking for predictions of warmer weather. My goal (resolution?!!) is to ride every month this year.

Cody Do you live or work in an opencast mine or quarry? Well it looks like that from the location on your signature on google maps. Cheers, Mike

I rode the bike today ~~ the bicycle. A little cold here in Fresno but not bad. After all of the Christmas candy and New Year goodies I needed the ride.

Ha ha. Looks like it, doesn't it. It's a new development. The sat shot was taken before the houses started going in.

Didn't see any new country today, but I did get in 200 miles. This is the crew I rode with, a little informal memorial ride for a guy we knew who died a year ago.

Here in Nashville I was able to get the annual New Years Day ride in of 100 beautiful miles. 40 degrees and dry - I sure like the heated jacket - made for a great way to start 2007.
2001 TT600 Turbo - 162.47 mph - APS-BG 650 AMA Record
2006 Speedmaster - 111.101 mph on the Salt Flats
2000 Speed Triple - 63k memorable miles.

John, New Year's Eve day, Judie and I jumped on the BA and rode with the SoCal Norton Owners Clubs's annual ride out of Pasadena and up Angeles Crest Highway to a little roadhouse known as Newcome's Ranch, situated about 35 miles up the mountains here. It was a "brisk" 75F in Pasadena as we left at 11am Sunday, and a "severe" 60F at Newcome's, which is at about 5,000 feet in elevation. It was a great ride up and back down all those "nasty" mountain road's twists and turns. The ride had about 75 riders and their bikes which included just about every known M/C brand of just about every vintage from the early '50s to present day bikes. Cheers, Dwight (just wanted to let you know that I'm "still" riding regularly...besides that is, to work almost every single day here in the "awful climes" of SoCal)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Nice pictures Cody, Derek;
Blue skies appeared Sunday, when the sun finally cleared the ridge about 9am. Feeling inspired, I bundled up in thermal knits, wool & leather and rode about 50 miles for a cup of coffee that afternoon. I think it was in the high 20's. I'm not any tough guy, actually too lazy & indolent to plug in the battery tender and pour stabil in the tank.
Living in this mountain valley with it's late sunrises and early sunsets, there's sometimes a "window" of opportunity between 1 and 3 pm. Remember the shortest day was a few weeks ago, life is looking up . I need to get serious about the Gerbing "plug-in" jacket, although being 1/2 Norwegian seems to help .

Dwight...no offence bud, but somtimes you're an a$$hole.
temps here are supposed to get to low 50's tomorrow and for next few days.I'm tempted to roll the bike out of the shed, but I know as soon as I do,It'll drop to 20 and snow.
The percentage you're paying is too high-priced
While you're living beyond all your means
And the man in the suit has just bought a new car
From the profit he's made on your dreams

Now now there Jackson, my friend! DON'T blame ME!
The Pasadena Chamber Of Commerce AND The Greater Southern California Tourist Board MADE ME add those obviously sarcastic words, "brisk" and "severe", in that post o' mine. I had NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with THAT! It was OUT O' MY HANDS, Bro!!!
(they said somethin' along the lines of banishing me to Minot, North Dakota for the winter if I didn't play ball with them)
