I suspect this is in the wrong bit, but it's late and I'm still recovering from last night.... I have my eBay account set up to send me alerts when new America or Speedmaster parts come up for sale. Today I received this... frame for sale. £1000!!!!!! Now when I got hit, the quote for the 'repairs' included a new frame - at £806 + VAT = £907.45 for a BRAND NEW ONE! I can understand someone wanting to get a older number so they can keep an old reg number... but there are limits... I just thinking they're wantng too much. I'd give em £300 tomorrow and collect it. Or does anyone really think that a grand is a reasonable price... Bear in mind - I only paid £500 for the complete salvage rights for the 03...

Pardon my ignorance, but what's the exchange rate? In other words, what's that in $US?

Nearly US$2000...
Brand new bike = $8k, nasty looking parted out bike's frame = $2k??????
I don't think so...
If no one buys it, maybe you can ask them to sell it for less?

I guess I was looking at it backwards, I was think'n around 6-700 USD. Maybe I'll take my bike apart, and sell the frame!

I've spoken to that guy in the past about some T-bird sports wheels I was after. He runs a bike wrecking business that primarily deals in hard-to-get models/parts and ALWAYS overcharges. Price he was gonna charge me for a used front t-bird sports hub was more than Triumph's price for a brand new complete america front wheel! And that's BEFORE the cost of shipping it to Aust!
Guess he's doing something right, he's still in business so someone must be paying his inflated prices.

Hi Gina......
I think the reason for the high price is.......
This frame comes with a log book and in some parts of the uk, there are dirty scumbags that will steel a bike and use a breakers frame and the stolen engine and parts to re-build a bike and sell it. With the frame and log book to match, it's easy to catch some poor riders out.
