HI all,

I am considering the TBike pipes, has anyone done this swap with similar mod's as mine? Worth it?

The T-bikes are great pipes. If you want a really loud growl look elsewhere though.

I get many people commenting on how my bike sounds "nice" Not too loud but just enough to make it apparent its a scooter.

I am so used to the sound of the Thunderbikes ...I do wish I could get a pair of Scepters just for the sake of adventure. But then again its real quiet in my neighborhood at 0500 in the AM. Those scepters would wake up all my rural neighbors.

Alllllrighty then.
I just orderd a pair, guess I should get some larger mains as well, 155 maybe 160's. Comments?
Also, whats the latest thinking on needles/pilots for this setup of mine. Pilots are stock, one shim under stock needles.
I have to say, after adding the FREAK she surely purrs so nicely at higher rpms, little to no vibes. Amazing difference. Guess I'll have to get add a tach cuz I'm rev'in her up nowadays!
Shocks are next, not so good experience with Hagons (returned to Bella), too soft for my 230 lb hulk.

cheers, and thanks guys for the input.

I just switched from TOR longs to Thunderbikes. I was running 132 mains, stock 42 pilots, and two shims on stock needles with the holed airbox mod and K&N filter. I had this setup with the TOR longs and did not have to change it with the Thunderbikes. Now that I'm ghetto freaked, things are changing.

Did you check to see if they have the pipes in stock? I had a month long wait before they were shipped as they weren't. Once they received the pipes, shipment was quick to the US (you paid for the quick shipping of course).

No I didn't, so I'll send them an email and see what they say.
Thanks.

Been running my thunderbike pipes for a year now. Don't know if it's my imagination or not but it seems that they are getting louder as time goes by. Is that possible because someone said a while back that they do not have fiberglass wraps in them?

Burtek, You are running the Freak? What jets were installed for the Freak? Chances are you will be good to go for Thunderbikes with your current setup.

They do have fiberglass packing in them. The baffles contain the packing and are replaceable according to the Thunderbike guys.

150 mains, supplied with FREAK for my setup. tempted to try larger, as no sign of overrich. Pull the choke out a bit, more power.

If your choke makes the bike run with more power, up the main jets to 160.

T bike pipes are the $hit I have had them since a month after purchase 2 1/2 years now. I have actually just made a set of drag pipes in the last couple of days to try. Fired it tonight but shocks are getting shortened so didn't ride it. Straight 2" pipes with 12" baffles in them then adapted down to the header pipe Wanted to gain the 1" I gave up with the shocks. I will ride it and put it on the gas analyzer , if they work I will duplicate with stainless pipe and got to town. Put one set of baffles in them and have another to try when I ride it to test with. Same sound as the t bike pipes but the throatiness is a bit more snappy. Hard to tell before I ride it though. Just a test.

Well, after all that bad weather, finally got insured and out last weekend for a good butt dyno run with the new TBike pipes.
And , all I can say is WOW! Considerable incr in power, and sounds much much better than TOR's. Great pipes, well worth it. Have to be carefull with throttle now, esp at low speed...lol. What a freakin gas! As someone else has said, a whole new bike.
next up, TBS needles, and perhaps stiffer clutch springs...

Cheers!

Hi Don, sent you a PM regarding a Customs question when the pipes arrived in Canada.
