The cop looked real concerned.
And I'm not sticking up for the guy, but isn't asking the guy to help put the 'line' down like asking him to flip the switch on his own electric chair?

I hope this doesn't derail too much, cause I AM glad the guy only hurt himself a little and not anyone else, but my dad has an interesting view on drunk driving penalties. He points out the HUGE difference in punishment for someone who gets a DUI like that, and someone who kills someone because of a DUI accident. For instance, if you get into an accident, no matter how madly injured the other guy is, YOU still did the same thing, so why so LITTLe punishment when nobody gets hurt, or they get hurt but sirvive? YOUR actions and choices were still the same!! Just glad that guy is off the street.

Well Benny the reason penalties are so different is because the way our justice system works, you cant lock sombody up to prevent them from killing sombody. You have to wait till they do it.

'tis unfortunate indeed. And it is probably one of those things where if the penalty was worse it would scare people out of doing it too.

Actually thats not true. In NYS you can lose your license for as little as 6 months OR could go to the state pen for a year then be on probation for another few.

But if someone dies you could go in for manslaughter? I guesss you are right tho some states are tightening the reigns (rains?).

Okay, obviously the guy was drunk, or abusing some substance and was destined to get arrested, BUT why the tape to make a line? They were in a parking lot with painted lines EVERYWHERE, you don't need to make one. Secondly, what's up with having the suspect help you make the line? I would guess that an attorney would take a look at that and prolly end up having the suspect sue the police department for the perp's cracked cranium......
I'm calling it a staged video, my story and I'm stickin' to it.

Gee Nancy....ya know, I've been wonderin' what June Taylor's been up to since Jackie Gleason's show went off the air!!!

She's a cop now, huh?!

(note: you've got to be at least 50 years old to get this one, people)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

I know a guy with seven DWIs and still has a license, thanks to a "good"
lawyer. My opinion after a few you should lose your driving privilage for life. My license was suspended for not paying a no license plate light ticket from a work vehicle that the company was supposed to pay. Make sense?
As far as injuring people, I have seen far too much injury and death from jerkoffs driving drunk. Lock them up for murder already.

Cop looks like he had to take a minute, assess the situation....and THEN call for rescue....these things take time....wouldn't wanna be hasty.....

The female cop was just plain clever.

What's even scarier to me about the whole DUI thing is that for every time someone's caught, there's the other bunch of times they're out driving under and not getting caught.

There is a second half of the DUI law that I don't agree with, though. It's called 'Control of the vehicle'. If you're drunk and have the keys on you, you can get a DUI. Let's say you've had your license revoked, and you want to change the oil on your wife's car. You can take the keys, open the car, change the oil, and not get a DWLS (driving while license suspended). But if you have a beer while changing the oil, you can get a DUI. There is no other law where you can get arrested for what you might do. It's the equivalent of being arrested for rape because you have the necessary equipment.

I had a friend of mine get to drunk to drive at a bar last winter. He knew what he was doing, could walk and all that but shouldt be driving. So he leaves the bar gets into his minivan and moves the car to the back of the parking lot where he now plans on spending the night. Leaves the van running for warmth. The cops show up hours later, wake him up and now hes BUSTED! He had the right intentions but should never have left the car running............
