I'm looking for some oversize valves for my 06 America. I'd like to be able to have all the head work done when I install my BB, to save taking it apart again. I haven't been able to find any, anyone have any sources? Other than that I think I have everything I need on hand or on the way.

machine shops can make them. You should be able to find the valves themselves for under $300, and a shop should be able to install them for around 3-400 as well.
Basically, with a little leg work you can replicate what Bonneville Performance does for under $700.
Call around to machine shops and ask about valve work.

I'll check around with some machine shops. I was wondering if anyone had any ready-made, but it seems not. Thanks for the tips.

their heads are $1600, but you can get the same thing done for less than 1/2 that with some legwork. Their markup is high, to say the least...

Well you could e-mail Bill and see if he'll sell you just the valves.

Try these guys - you may need to send them a valve first for proper sizing though. Titanium Valves

I've sent an email to Bonneville Performance asking about purchasing just the valves, and one to the Titanium Performance company Dinqua mentioned, so we'll see.
If they won't sell just the valves and I have to have them made what should should they be made of? Anyone have an idea what the original alloy is, or an equally durable option?

Remember that slightly larger valves can usually be installed on stock valve seats, but properly larger valves will require larger (non-stock) valve seats be installed.
Take it from someone who used to own a flow bench and do cyl. head work: don't bother with the ex. valves; spend your hard earned $$$ on the intakes.

YES! Larger valves will make a noticible difference. But this is alos best done along with the big bore and porting heads to get the most for your money. Probably my next project. I figure about $350 to do them.

Almost always, larger ex. valves don't help very much. Now, if you install a big bore kit (along with those very nice forged pistons ) and then rev your engine a lot, larger ex. valves can be helpful.
But, larger intakes are far and away more important.
Having said that, your hard earned $$$ can more effectively be spent elsewhere. I vote for a big bore kit.

I've already ordered my +2mm intake valves, and +1mm exhaust valves and I should receive them in January.
Before anyone asks me where I got them from...I can't tell -you. Really. The machinist that's making them for me is turning away work at this point.
Here is my engine plan:
-+2mm/+1mm intake/exhaust valves -Ported and polished head -Wiseco 904cc kit -HSR 41mm mikunis
I'm hoping the above work will net me 85ish rear wheel hp, and I'm thinking it will get me closer to 90 rwhp.
The work will begin mid-late Jan and be completed by the beginning of March. I will post results.

OK Sweat, tell us where you got those valves or I'll send two guys named Vinny and Ruso over to your place and get the information the hard way. ....Angelis

What I've found so far:
The titanium valves from the site Dinqua mentioned are $79.95/per valve.
Ferrea estimates about $50-60/per valve.
Manley is what I'll probably go with at about $25/per valve, with a ten day lead time. I'll probably send them one each intake and exhaust to pattern from, just after the new year.
Talking with Bill Gately(Bonneville Performance), he says he only keeps enough valves on hand for jobs he has planned, so he doesn't have extras available to sell. He did recommend to go with 1mm oversize on both intake and exhaust for the best street performance, so that's what I'll probably do.
With my motor torn down I'm eager to order the valves and get everything sent off for machining. Thanks for the suggestions everyone.

When I still had my '73 VW Super Beetle on the street, manley had a pretty good reputation for aftermarket valves, I think you'll be pretty happy with them, since they're already accustomed to making valves for air-cooled engines.

Manley is making my valves, but a third party that will remain unnamed is sending them the specs so I don't have to take my head apart to order them.
This third party is going to weight-match my new larger valves to the stock valves so that the springs can remain stock and the valvetrain will function like stock.
Manly makes valves for Nascar. That should say something.
