Hi everyone, this is my first post but have been a regular viewer for a while, got a problem with my 05 america and wondered if anyone could shed any light on it. I've got short slash triumph pipes, AI removed, all snorkels removed and air box mod, 130 mains, 42 pilots, K+N filter, carb piston holes driled to 7/64, air mix screws 2 1/4 turns. There's a slight splutter low down and its difficult to start from cold. Could this be a simple matter of carb balancing. The bike does seem to be running a little rich judging by the plugs, would appreciate any ideas, many thanks..steve

Yep, try sync'ing the carbs and be sure the air cleaner is nice and clean too. If you have a UNI filter, you need to be careful as they are very easy to over-oil which chokes the air a lot and causes a small amount of oil to get in the gas mixture as well.
A word to the wise is not necessary. It is the stupid ones who need the advice.
