I'm from Texas originally, and TX doesn't have a helmet law, and unfortunately, I've seen more than one biker, Cruiser or Sportbike notwithstanding, not wearing a helmet, worse, their pillion wasn't wearing a helmet either :-(

Hey Michael,
What part of the GulfCoast you on? The Rednck Riviera has alway meant Gulf Shores to me, but alot of others are claiming it now.

Gautier, MS, work at the Shipyard in Pascagoula, MS, although may be living in Mobile in about 5 months. Redneck Riviera was the popular expression when I lived in Panama City, FL, but I'd also heard "Southern Alabama" touted alot :-)

Love that part of the country. I spent a couple of years there (DD 977 and CG 48). Even married a girl from Pascagoula.

Yeah, it's amazing that I can think of at least 4 former Shipmates that are now stationed in this area; the place does have some advantages, like a great riding season (all year long), not too much traffic, and fairly non-intrusive law enforcement on the streets. Now if only there were a few more curves......
