Can somebody 'splain to me the relevance of "plugging" the AI as opposed to removing it all together & installing the removal kit? I have had two separate mechanics mention this to me.

Since the AI is an emmissions thing and you are in CA, they may be trying to avoid any problems with the air police. I vaguely remember a dealer out there getting in hot water about removing emissions equipment. It goes back to the original BA.com site, any oldtimers remember? (original site old, not age-old)

I believe it was So-Cal Triumph. The problem was they advertised as the AI removal being done by the dealer. Most will still do it but will also disclaim any knowledge to stay out of hot water.

Plugging the AI means just that. Instead of removing all the hardware, you just plug the cylinders and airbox and leave the 'guts' in place.
