I'm looking for any recommendations for a shop that can install the sleeves for my big bore kit. While the motor is apart I'd also like to do some head work: some porting and oversize valves. I live in Columbia, Mo; and I'm often in St.Louis, but for a good shop that's not crazy expensive I'd be happy driving several hundred miles if necessary.
I've heard that you can send the cylinders in to Wiseco for the sleeving, but I'd like to deal with a local shop if I can(even if it's not very local to me), at least that way you can talk to the guy doing the work in person.
I'd prefer to find a shop that has some experience with these engines, if possible.
Thanks for any input.

Dink's big bore destructions has an adress on about the 3rd or 4th page with a greatr machine shop. They have done many of these and the price is right. Also send them your head and they will do the port work too.

I may be doing a port/polish and bigger valves in the very near future, as well as the wiseco kit. I'd seen your site before Pat, but thanks again for the info!

Has anyone done the bigger valves yet? What are the results? It was a very expensive option when I did my big bore engine.......

Cheers.

I just called Seely machine and they said they'd do a port/polish, install all 8 larger valves, AND do the sleeve work for (ding ding ding!!!) $320 bucks!!!!!!

That is F-ing amazing. They knew Dinqua right away too.

I'm providing the valves, +2mm intake +1mm exhaust, and they're costing me $250 shipped. If anyone wants to order bigger valves let me know and I can get you contact info.

Just be sure to send new valve seals with the valves too!
Steve is a very good machinist, he does a lot of the race cars and pretty much all the machine work for anyones race bikes in this area. All the bike and high performance auto shops use him. his work is top knotch and his prices are outstanding.
He has done 4 big bores for me already ( and told me he's done about another half dozen due to my web site) and he also did all the repair work on Jaymos motor that grenaded on the way to georgia last spring.
So, keep em coming to Steve, the more he does for you guys, the better deals I can get.

Dealer should have them or can order them. You can send them to Steve later if he has to order them for you.

They cost about $4 each if I remember right.
Triumph Part # 3600004-T0301 Seal, Oil, Valve stem (quantity of 8 required)

Also be sure the new vavles are the exact same stem diameter or you will need to have 8 new valve guides made. They stock valve guides are not sold seperatly, they are part of the entire head assembly - cost $1750!!!!!!
But, Steve made two for Jaymo's head when he welded the case and repaired the head areas as his were tweaked beyond use.

the new valves I'm getting are .05mm bigger than the triumph valve stems.

the Triumph valve stems are 5.45mm and these are 5.50 mm, but the machinist that's getting them for me says they just have to hone the guides, which is good for a nice tight tolerance.

Sweatmachine, where did you get your valves? If the 0.05mm over stems are ok. If the stems are over wouldn't the seals as well as the guides have to be oversized?
Anyone else have a good source for valves?

PM me your email address and I'll forward it to my valve machinist.
