Does anyone out there use one of those brake light pulsator dohickies? (dohicky: American technical term...may also be called thingy, whachamacallit or gizmo). That flashes the brake light for a millisec or so before solid red. I got behind a local fire department vehicle the other day that was equiped with same sort of thing....let me tell ya it works defiantly got my attention..in fact after a half mile or so it got downright irritaiting actually made me avert myeyes each time he tapped his brakes...wanted to ram him just to try and bust them out.But now i think i want one.

I put one of these on. I added a few bright LEDs to light up the license plate.

It flashes and is very bright...even with sunlight in the cagers' eyes.

At first I got one with the leds on the license plate that is tied into the brake/running light.
Then I added one of the motion-activated ones too. This one seems to give some "false" flashes on bumps and deceleration BUT it still reminds drivers there's a bike in front of them.

The links are here for the Brake Flasher.

and

here for the Signal Dynamics plate frame.

They're both nicely made in the USA.

I have the TailBlazer. It works great. Not to mention that it is 1157 direct replacement bulb, so no wiring of anything.

I have the Signal Dynamics Backoff flasher unit running to an SG LED license plate frame (stock brake light is untouched). While it works quite well, I like the idea of the one Soren has better. When my rear brake light switch stuck, my license plate lights flashed constantly. Rather than just pull three screws and swap bulbs, I had to pull the license plate and swap wires around. I wired up the Backoff module with weatherproof blade connectors so I could pull the module out and restore regular brake light function to the license plate frame. But it's always a PITA to cram all the wires and module in the license plate mounting bracket.

I have the halogen, modulating, bulb from Brent. It looks
attention-getting in a dark garage, but I don't know what
it looks like from behind. Maybe someone who has ridden
behind me will chime in.

I think it's a good idea.

Thanks Mark,
I wasn't sure if it would look stupid, or confusing to a cager.
Since I started riding in the eary 70's, I always
flashed my brake lights if there was a car behind me. I
even do it in my p/u.

Now this thing does it for me, and I can concentrate on
braking, and what's around me.

.

I have that one also.

I don't really know if it works or not. My understanding is that it is supposed to work on heavy braking. My riding friends say it definitely flashes when I hit bumps so I assume it is activated when braking heavily.

My sources also tell me it flashes on bumps and hard downshifting.
This is a good thing. It makes drives think, "whoa, what was that?" and take notice.

I hope...

I wish there was some sort of telepathic communicator that could cleanly tell the idjit in the cage behind oneself that one intends to come to a complete stop at a right hand red light before turning.

Yesterday on my way home after crossing at a railroad intersection just prior to an on ramp to I-10 and or a frontage road with the light red I crossed the track with the signal indicating a right turn and came to a complete albeit very brief full STOP to look before entering the on ramp/frontage to the right. The moron behind me decided ahead of time that I was likely to do a kalifornia stop and he had to hit his brakes hard to keep from doing me any damage. As it was he tapped my rear fender ever so slightly thereby invigorating my rightious Irish demeanor.

Turning my head and fixing him with my best Irish glare and blasting him with my best RL Ermey intimidation effort he sheepishly argued his request for forgiveness.

Forgiveness is the providence of God. I ripped him a new one after telling him to pull over so I could inspect my fender in case I needed his info. No damage done other than his hearing and a lesson learned in his case hopefully. He was lucky I was not armed cause I was HOT.

I dont suppose anyone makes a flasher with a telepathic communicator eh?

Ironic...I think I need one of these for my TRUCK!!!!
While driving my TRUCK to work this morning I was rear-ended on the Interstate. Other than sore shoulders I am ok but what if I were riding my cycle...which I wanted too but it was raining?!?!

I think getting rear ended must be of great concern to most of us. Even when we are right in front of them they will endeavor to decide for us if we should come to a complete stop or not. I gotta admit my blood pressure was extremely high yesterday. I did not think I could string that many profane words together at such a high volume on short notice. My old drill sargent would have been proud.

Kevin, you were very restrained in your response given the circumstances! lol Please consider getting flashers for your bike.

DMillikan, sorry to hear. Funny thing, I saw a pickup just the other night with an led light strip just below the tail gate. I want one too!

That looks like a great product, unlike the do it yourself type I wouldn't have to depend on my pathetic soldering skills. How much alteration does it take to get it to fit inside our taillights?

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

the Kriss directions say o hook it up to the HIGh beam for daytime flashing...
I was told it has to be on the low beam for flashing.... at least my Yammi is wired that way...

I replaced my stock tail/brake light with a 1.85" Radiantz LED cluster and replaced my rear turn signals with large Silver Bullets. I also placed a 1.85" Radiantz LED cluster in each silver bullet and installed a run/turn/brake module module link
With this setup I have 3 constant tail lights and 3 brake lights. The module also has the option of the brake lights coming on solid or with 4 or 5 quick flashes, then solid. It's pretty sweet.

The KR650 fits...if your state requires it, you'll need to add white LEDs to light up the license plate. The KR650 is plug and play...more or less.
