I guess they recently had an auction of a lot of his toys. Good article; too bad it didn't mention too much about his Triumphs, mainly his Indians.

HOLY CRAP!!! THIRTY-TWO THOUSAND SMACKERS for a friggin' Belstaf waxed-cotton JACKET, and ALL BECAUSE Steve wore it???!!!

Geez...I KNEW I should'a joined that stupid Play-Production group back in high school when that old crone of a drama teacher invited me to join it.

Oh well....

And regarding that last entry here, the '05 Triumph Scrambler, which went for almost three-times what it was worth, I gotta ask....Other than it "resembling" the bike Steve rode in the '64 International Trials, why was it included in this auction???

What?! Just because little Tommy Boy parked his a$$ upon it for that M.I.3 movie, it's "worth" THAT much???

Well, guess what folks, I...yes I, have positioned my posterior upon that very same bike, and rode it around the grounds of the Laguna Seca Raceway this past summer during the U.S. leg of the MotoGP series!!!

Oh...WAIT a minute here. Maybe the word got out that BOTH us BOZOS have ridden that bike around, and THAT'S WHY it when for over 30 Grand.

Hey...maybe I got more pull around here than I THOUGHT!!!

Cheers,
Dwight
(so...as much as I love my BA....if ANYBODY here is interested in it, I'll let it go for a "paltry" 25 grand)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

You can see all the items with their auction price by clicking here.

It is comforting to know that McQueen's Belstaff jacket is worth more than a Tom Cruise movie bike. Cruise never did have that level of coolness.

I still have my Belstaff, waxed cotton, 3 day trials, jacket
from the early 70's. I wonder what it's worth? My mom didn't
want me wearing leather, but wanted me protected, so this
was the compromise. Now she's 89, and happy that I wear a
heavy leather jacket, chaps, boots and gloves when I ride.
Also, a full coverage SHOIE helmet.
