I myself and it seems alot of men, when they talk about their bikes refer to them as "she" or "her" some even have given their rides womens names. (wonder what Frued would say about this).

So do women do this? call them "he" "she" "it"? Names?

Gina's new bike is definitely, as she says, "a bloke." don't know if he has a name.
i was ambiguous about assigning gender to Blue.
i used to think "it" was a boybike.
but i kinda think "it" is too beautiful to be a boy, so...

Yeah the new one is definately a bloke. Dunno why, just getting that vibe. Name - he doesn't have one yet, but someone pm'd me about something else and the name Myst came into it.... It's winning at the mo.
The other one, definately female. She was a pain from day one... And with the alarm on ..... too much to say! She is called Florence.
My 125 (I'm greedy and have 3 bikes) is called Doris. Her full name is Probably Doris, as that is what I replied when the dealer asked me what she will be called...

'My' Thruxton is called Zebidee (ok it's not my Thruxton but there was a couple of months were it felt like it was mine) and a bloke.
I also rode a SM while I had alarm troubles in Oct 05 and that to this day is called Dougal at the dealers, but was ambiguous... and for sale. However was a sh!t ride. Hence why named after a dog.

Gina 03 America - Pretty stock - except the TBS wheel... 06 America - missing, presumed in bits. With it's TBS wheel... 09 America - It's very blue....

Sort of ironic how guys talk about their vehicles as a "she" then talk about how much balls it has...

My Pretty Bonnie just kind of "became" My Pretty Bonnie...I picked her up and then as I toured her around introducing her to my world, we'd all stand back and admire, and I'd glow all up and say, "Look at my Pretty Bonnie..., look at those lines!" Being black/chrome she's not exactly all pinked out/femme, although she politely carries my lipstick in the otherwise useless pouch on the tank bib.

My other most favorite bike of ever- my 79 Shovelhead, was honored as "The Chopper". I miss that bike to this day, heavy sigh..... Springer front end, mini-apes just my size, kick and electric, king/queen seat, the sweetest pearl white paint/killer flames, I had it built up in 1990, he was male from the moment I picked up the engine and had the project started. I love the look, feel and sound of the pre-evo HD motors. The Chopper was definately a man (and the only one I would take back in a minute ).

Mine is called Bonnie 2, Bonnie 1 was a 79 Triumph Bonneville 750 which I use to own. Both are Black and Silver.

I was so much older then, I am younger than that now (Wrote By Dylan Sung by the BYRDS,)

My America is definitely male. It is much more an old buddy to go partying and shooting pool with. I once had a BMW that was female without question. Very unpredictable and always demanding attention and expensive stuff.

Ed, are you saying that like it's a bad thing?

My Pretty Bonnie is loud and proud and rides around likes she owns the place. It's sugar AND spice that makes everything nice!

My bike is so macho, it stinks. My wife named her "Vera". I never told her about the Vera from my past, so Vera was a recollection, a rememberance of a special relationship in my past. Talking to MOE, made me realize the significance of the name Vera, and how an old sweetheart was not the reason to name a bike.
I've decicded to rename my bike ROSIE for her brilliant color. "Ruby" is the name of STEWE's gorgeous red bike, so ROSIE it is. If my bike were a boring Harley Black color, I'd name "him" CLETUS.

Ride Safe, Dennis Triumph, it's how I live and what I ride.
