As planned I layered up and went for a ride today. Weather was right at 50 degrees with a partly cloudy sky. Did my usual route west towards the Blue Ridge mountains... just meandered this way and that making turns enjoying the empty roads. Stopped at the Griffin Tavern out in Flint Hill and had a couple of Boddingtons and bowl of chili. Warmed by the fire a little and suited back up and headed back out. Made a longer than usual route back home. Just didn't seem right going back home before dark. Normally riding this particular route I see tons of bikes. However, today I didn't see a single one. What gives? Last weekend when the temp was about 70 bikes were everywhere...

Sounds like a great day!
I was able to get away on the bike today for a while too. Wasnt able to head for the hills but did get out for a while. The temp was around 50 and falling, but always worth it (note to self, get some winter gloves).

It is very late in the riding season here....... but next week forecasts are for mid 60's!! Having just completed several critical ride oriented modifications to my bike I can't wait. 25* and frosty this morning.

Looking good for this coming week over here in Dinquaville too. I have the next 4 days off and plan on doing some riding if it's dry by then. Have to see if the local yoot is up to it too.

I was able to sneak a couple of nice rides this weekend. Wonderful!
And after I give thanks to the turkey, I think I'll give thanks to my SM with a couple of rides.

We had a great ride today also. The Weather Channel called it 'abundant sun'. Got a chuckle out of me. Temps were in the mid 60s, had to break out the leather jacket. We got about 10 miles out and had to return so Janet could put on long johns!! At least we know now that if it's below 70, Janet needs warm gear!

I too had a good ride today. Gorgeous sunshine - if a little chilly - and 2 hours till I had to get to work. Was intending to go to Cheddar Gorge and take a couple of pics to post somewhere on here, but the road was closed and didn't really have time to got round the diversion. After 50 miles got home in time to turn round and go back out again to work. Train left station just in time for it to start raining... it hasn't stopped yet. Got soaked riding home.

I too had a nice ride on Saturday. Though the wife requested I cut it short. Her reason was that I ride everyday, but I explained that was commuting and a weekend ride is "different"! Well it almost worked. Still burned a tank! Yesterday morning was one of my better rides all year. It was 34F when I left but the roads were empty, barely a car in site. A rare treat for LI.
