Talking to newt this morning, he suggested we have a get together that is geographically centric enough to pull in the central to southern BA.com riders. I think this is an outstanding idea!
We were thinking somewhere north of Lake Okeechobee as this is pretty much 100 miles from a lot of people. Don't have dates or locations so consider this an interest fishing expedition!
I know this time of year is tough to free up some time but check your calendars, please! I was kinda' looking at December 9/10. I can tell you every other weekend but that one is shot for me until January (which could work also).

January looks better for those of us that do toy runs on December weekends.

Phil, Could use the homestead at Lake Okeechobee. Can sleep 4 to 5 in beds and plenty of room for camping. Could even roll some sleeping bags out on the front porch. You know what is out there. I have been in the hospital a bit lately and january would work out better for me. I know with our bikes it is not needed but if we wanted to do a lap of the lake and my health is just not up to par and I can not ride, I could pull a trailor with my truck for a chase vehicle. Did not mean to offend only be of service with the last comment. So I can sponsor on my 10 acres in the country North of Okeechobee City. Mark

One more thing. Could do a keg of beer, burgers, bon fire and music for a small donation just to cover the cost. Maybe swap meet for small parts that are packable on the bike. mark

I figured December would be tough if not impossible... No biggie, let's plan on January then!
Mark, thanks for the offer! That would be outstanding! Hey all, I've been to Mark's place. It's north of the lake some so it really would be centrally ideal. Great spot, lot's of land, high and dry. Cookout, bonfire, beer, camping, Triumphs, and Triumph riders. Could you ask for more?? I would have no problem chipping in for food, beer, firewood, whatever.
So what weekends in January would work for youse guys and gals???

Check out this site. http://www.froglegfestival.com/ Fellsmere is about a 45 minute ride north of Okeechobee city. The Frog Leg/ Gaiter Tail Festival is January 18-21. Andy who is the founder of Riders of the Lost Empire, (bunch of Brit Bike Riders) had a motorcycle show last year on Sunday. Had some Nortons, BSAs and Triumphs. So would be a good ride up. Just and idea but could do a lap of the Lake O' on Saturday, burgers, beer and bonfire Saturday night then Frog Leg Festival on Sunday afternoon. They have Blues player scheduled for Sunday afternoon. Check out this web site for more info. http://www.froglegfestival.com/Let me know Mark

Legs and tails? Nothing wrong with that! I've met Andy and some of the Riders of the Lost Empire gang when they were doing their Canada to Key West run. Good people. I'd have no problem going to this festival and so far, the date looks good to me. Anyone else?

Mark, you okay dude? Hey, that sounds pretty good to me. My only concern would be missing the Bears in the NFC Championship on the 21st. Should be able to work around that! The South will Rise Again! Ryan

Sounding like the weekend of January 20-21. I probably have crash space here if you want; prior, during, or after.

Man...sounds tempting. Don't know if I'll be able to swing it with me saving up vacation for GA, NH, and NY. But could always fly down Friday afternoon.

I would guess it would be a mite cold up there in Jan? January in Florida is 'our time'. Temps are typically in the low 70s for the highs and a chilly upper 50s for lows and typically NO rain. I have a truck we could use and........ Jees, what the heck am I getting myself into? Inviting the yoots to Florida? Am I nuts? Pat, smack me upside the head with a beer bottle, eh? Ah screw it, come on down. We'll figure something out!

Try and see if you can get routed thru JFK or LGA and we could get hammered on the flight down.

Yeah, that is pretty funny. Like you guys are as important as the Bears. Ha! Phil, you gonna trailer up?
I don't remember how far away I am from the proposed site, but my house will always be available. I suppose battle tubes in our pool could be arranged.

You know I am just bustin' your chops. Speaking of the subject though, I finally broke 17k this past weekend on an overnight to Hilton Head Island to catch a jazz concert, which means I did roughly 10k this year. Not too bad for a yuppie.
I would offer to smoke a couple of Boston Butts for you all, but that would preclude me from participating in any rides.

January 6th weekend. Then all y'all could buy me a sixer of beer for my big four seven. (Rode down to the lake this past Nov 5th.) I'm up for the Florida Fall Color Run! Ha. Isn't that about the time we rake leaves? Gosh, Attending a rally that only takes about a couple of hours to get to!

Talked to Janet and told here there might be a couple of yoots + a surprise guest invading our peaceful domicile. Got the look but she seems OK with it! Youse yoots are gonna have to abide by the bosses rules (that wouldn't be me, btw). One of those rules is a limit of one quart of whiskey apiece per hour. Hope you can live with that!!
