Sorry, this is probably a stupid question. Where is the AI located going into the cylinders. I just got my 06 Bonneville America two weeks ago and my dealer told me that they did not remove the AI. Is the AI going into the cylinders next to the spark plug? I see a bolt that looks similar to the ones I got from newbonneville.com . Does anyone have any pics? Sorry for the newbie question, I just wanted to figure out what I was doing before I take the tank off. Thanks

I thought that was it. I have a bolt next to each spark plug. I can't figure out why the dealer told me that they didn't remove the AI when it looks like they did. I still have to take the tank off to put on a chrome cam cover so I'll see if the AI was completely removed.

My dealer wouldn't take mine off when I took delivery. But they did take it off at the first service.

I bought the bike new. It's an 06. The guy who sold me the bike looked at me kind of funny when I asked him about the AI. I don't think he knew what I was talking about. I also asked him about exhaust for the bike and he said that the Triumph off-road was the best for the bike. Of course they didn't sell D&D, Sceptre etc... I'm a little disappointed in the dealer. When I went back to p/u some chrome parts, the salesman gave me the cold shoulder. They lost all of their accessory business from me. I'm buying mine from Coweta Custom Cycles, 20% off. Being a former Harley owner, I'm used to the dealer kissing butt everytime I walked in there. After all, accessories and service add up. $$$ I live in Chicago and it was 41F today, but I still had to take a spin.

Mark, Possibly they just removed the AI into the cylinder and left the rest of the unit attached to the bike. ? . This is a picture of the whole AI system. It would be mounted under your tank. It's no big deal if they left it on, but you would want to make sure the bottom end of the big hose is not still connected to the airbox, if they did. (so you don't possibly suck dirty air in) If they did leave it on, you can just pull it off. And save the 2 screws that mount the unit to the frame, You can mount other things there in the future. Just a thought.

There's that frightening pic again! Looks like it should be beat with a bat until it stops moving and then a few rounds from 12g buckshot to make sure!!! Then onto the raging fire to REALLY make sure.

Thank's for the pic. I'll be taking the tank off Wednesday to put a chrome cam cover on. I'll check to see if they completely removed the AI. I still can't figure out why the sales guy didn't tell me. Then again they probably removed it when they serviced the bike for delivery and didn't even tell the salesman. Thanks for the help.

BUT SAVE THE SKINNY HOSE.. It works great for draining the carb bowls into a can. (you must squeeze the 'Lil restrictor out of the one end of the hose first)
Now off to the matches and kerosene

Right after I bought my bike I installed the AI plugs and removed all the plumbing for the AI. I kept everything so I could reassemble it if need be. I was paranoid that I might need to pass an inspection or an emissions test. Last spring I pulled the airbox, so it would be a pretty big task to put it all back together again. Cody

Yeah, "The Sales Guy" claimed that he's been racing Triumphs for years. When I went to pick up some parts at the dealer I saw him "racing" around the parking lot.
