Amazing how you can see it that way. Perhaps because you want to talk about him, you are the one enamored with him?

Exactly
-------------------- Phil <<~>> The most beautiful 02 Black BA EVER. Freak/150/42/TBS/Epcos. Her name is Raven
Has nothing to do with promoting him, or glorifying him, or loving him, just some of us expressing outrage that any network would give him the time of day, let alone help him profit from it, even if indirectly. And from the posts, it seemed everyone was on the same page. Ignoring something doesn't solve problems. Sorry that seems to controversial for the waters around here...

For the record, I did not lock either post but I agree with the actions.
How about expressing your outrage with the Fox network instead of preaching to the choir???

Trust me, I do on a regular basis, although it does no good, at least it's good for venting steam. Now, open your hymnals to "Beat that SOB with That Old Rugged Cross..."

OK, here's a totally different subject. They are talking on the news now about kids using mothballs to get high, either through snorting them, or chewing/sucking on them! OK, I would say that crosses the line into really desparate... YUCK!!! I'll stick with my funny cigarettes, well, that is if I were of that persuasion...

Hallelujah, you finally hear the message Brother Fill.... Funny though, sometimes it seems the only one in the choir is that little voice in my head "Steady your aim Greg, steady your aim..."

Ooops, my bad folks, I don't really have voices in my head. I just realized it was just my Bluetooth earpiece for my cellphone, it was my boss talking to me!(no wonder I thought I was going crazy) My bad!! What is with everybody walking around with those things 24/7 anyhow?! Are we about to be assimilated by the Borg or something?

I locked the second thread because skillett assumed that we locked the first one because we are OJ lovers. Just because we lock a thread doesn't mean we dissagree with it, just means THIS ISN'T THE PLACE!! And we've been thru this before!! If you guys can keep a handle on things we wouldn't be locking and deleting, but ya can't, so we do...

Last night on "The O'Reilly Factor" on Fox News Bill O'Reilly gave the Fox Entertainment side he11 and said it was shameful. He plans to hammer them at every opportunity.
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

Hmmmm. seemed rather innocuous to me that thread. Oh well.
Not complaining mind you.....just seemed a bit hair trigger to some of us.
Reeks of a need to be totally politically correct which to some in this world of ours indicates a lack of a spine....But like I said no one is complaining.
OJ is just a nice kid from the hood who got a break from the justice system.

....but alas, our seemingly now gun shy moderators had already locked THAT ONE TOO before I got up this morning!!!

Hey all. Politically correct is a bunch of dodo. Come over to my house and I’ll show you touchy feely PC with a variety of words and devices. Will shock the heck out of anyone who even thinks that talking straight is talking incorrectly. Wake up. What we have here is a nip it in the bud deja vu kind of oversight. I say go visit other forums and see what their policies are. Like they will fricken nuke you when you get out of hand. Take away your account access and block your isp addy. No polite pm's or replys. We allow some of the bull sheet then get slammed for containing it. So, as you test the waters, fear not the drain when we pull the plug.
Let's all take a deep breath and have a big hug.

Moe,
I think your words..."get out of hand"...in this latest response of yours, are at the crux of this ongoing feeling some here have.
Yes, in the past when a particular issue was raised that could lead to a difference of opinion, some here(and maybe even I was guilty of this to a degree) had a tendency to throw the epithets around. But, I now sense that whenever there's any "negative vibes" that appear around here, that the moderators now wish everybody to be "touchy-feely", to use the your own words here.
I've had more than a few people send me PMs who have said in essence that they believe this great site has become "pedestrian" to a certain degree, and I tend to agree with their observation.
What say we loosen up a bit, act like the mature people we hope we are, and return to a more open feeling around this "lounge", where people can feel free to express themselves within reason.
And if it DOES "get out of hand" and the name calling commences, put the kabosh on it then and only then.
Thanks for listening, Dwight

To all, Think of this place as a playground with all sorts of fun stuff. The Lounge is like a big sandbox that everyone cavorts in. Your moderators are the sanitation engineers whose job is to clean up. Awhile ago, there were a boatload of sandy pee-piles and little sand covered brown things It took a lot of work because a lot of people were crapping and peeing in the community sandbox. So it was decided "No More Crapping or Peeing in the Sandbox!"Some people got angry and said “If I can’t crap and pee wherever I want, I am taking my pail and shovel and going home!† Some people said “Thank you, now I can play in the sandbox without getting crap and pee all over me!† Some people said “WHAT! You are restricting my rights as a free American to crap and pee wherever I want! But I am not going home, I am going to grumble and grouse about it!† So we have people still trying to crap and pee in the sandbox and who do we yell at? Why the garbage collectors of course!

Phil, I know I'm probably wasting key strokes here, but I believe this "sandbox"(not to mention the excrement) analogy is a little beneath your normal high standards of insight.(and I DO believe that you have high standards)
My suggestion, for what's it's worth, is that the "garage collection" need not be a done at such a contant interval.
I believe that the vast majority of people who post here haven't stepped into a "sandbox" in many o' year.
Cheers, Dwight (and I know that you'll be thankful that this will be my final input on this issue)

I joined this outfit to exchange ideas and stories about motorcycles, TA's & SM's in particular. Take your political crap to Fox, as suggested and, as far as I know, O.J. doesn't ride a Triumph, so discuss him on some other venue.

Uh, is OJ running for an office, or did I miss something? We were just talking about the great American Sports Hero/Double Murderer, not politics.... Yeah, I like to nitpick, got nothing better to do since the bike is away for the winter, and I'm stuck in a hotel room for 3 more weeks!

Got that right!! I didn't do anything based on an opinion of the content of the post. Nor do I give a sh!t what anyone thinks about OJ. I just saw it turning south because so many times people draw dumb a$$ conclusions from people's posts. Like blocking a post because it's not PC. And silly me for not wanting to offend someone! It's not being PC, it's called common courtesy. I was a boy scout, courtious was one of the values we practiced..... I was just trying to save Phil from having to read 6 pages of garbage.
