Ok this may get zapped by the Mighty Hammer of Smitting,
BUT!

It's just to much fun!!!

Take those old CDs, place a small microwave safe cup
or something in yer microwave.

Set the CD on top, turn out the lights and give it a few
seconds on high!!

OK, I'll go back to the basement now.

Oh yea, if you have young children,
DON"T SHOW THEM THIS!!!

I had a Bud that showed his young boy,
Next day, NO CDs!!!

HOLY SH*T! That was fun! Although my kitchen now smells a bit like burnt plastic. I had a rather horrible day today at work and that was probably the first time I cracked a smile all day! Next time my sister does something to tick me off I'll have to show that little trick to my nephews

that's funny. You sound just like my Dad. He's always threatening my sister by saying he's buying his grandsons drum sets for Christmas. Of course, my brother and I then chime in and suggest other great "gifts."

Remember the fireman hats with built in sirens and flashing lights from Radio Shack? I got them for my nephews and installed the longest lasting batteries I could find Since both of my "Children" are of the canine persuasion there was little my brother could do in return Twenty years later my nephews still laugh about it, but my brother doesn't

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

Cheers,

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

It won't hurt your microwave, but not sure how healthy it is for you. The microwave basically vaporizes the thin layer of aluminum inside the CD. As you may or may not know...there is such a thing as aluminum poisoning. I'm not sure if the smoke will contain any vaporized aluminum, or if it's just the CD label burning, but remember, you cook your food in there.

OK, Jeff, you did not say how you come about this little venture

What possessed you to try it and we know you were wasting time, but how does one think up things like this

Two parts liquid starch, 1 part white glue. Or maybe the proportions are the other way around, it's been a while since I've made this. ( I've brought it in bowls to Halloween parties.) Anyway, add a few drops of food coloring or powdered paint. Mix it all up until it's this gooey but not sicky emulsion kind of stuff. Makes great blood (red) or drippy nose boogers ( green). Doesn't explode or cause smoke or upset wives, sorry.

Now.
THAT's wasting time!!!
If it don't go BOOM, make cool sparks, or smoke like
Chicago is burnin' to the ground, fling stuff HUNDREDS
of feet, or generally make NANCY shake her head
and mutter "Yer Warped!"
Not gonna cut it!

Can you imagine the fun a group from this board would have in one of those reality competition shows? That trebochet comment got me to thinking how cool that would be. How far could we launch a Sportster?

privateer,

my wife was walking in the door just as barry manilow was giving off a wicked yellow and red light show the smoke detector went off, my younger son ran up to his room when he heard the door open and left me to take the heat. she has not spoken to me since.

Really has turned out to be a nice weekend.

Sounds like the best possible thing to do with a Barry Manilow CD.
