Hi all,
I finally completed my move (most of it anyway) to New Mexico. I still have some of my stuff, including my bike, stored up north. I'll be going up to get that sometime in the next few weeks. I'm anxious to get my bike down here. The daytime temps have been in the 60s and 70's since I got here. It looks like there are tons of places and roads to explore, and I can't think of a better way to do it than on my motorsicle.

We are still going through the move-in chores, like getting phone and internet hooked up. Right now I am bumming off and unsuspecting neighbor who hasn't had the insight to secure his wireless. My official connection will be hooked up sometime this week.

I was looking at the user list trying to find other ba.com members in this area (Albuquerque). It's really too bad that there isn't a better way to search and sort on location. I'd like to put in another pitch for an idea that was suggested a while back. Someone suggested that we put our location in the ICQ field, which can be used to sort the user list. A few members really have ICQ numbers, but most of us don't. A number of us did put their locations in the ICQ field, and it works pretty well. I'd like to see a lot more. The format that was suggested was 'USA-NM-Albuquerque'. That way, the lists sorts on country and then state and then city. It sure would be handy to find other members in the area. I know I've seen Albuquerque in other profiles, but it's almost impossible to search for them.

BTW, I found PJ's Triumph yesterday over on Central Avenue, but since it was Sunday it was closed. A couple of observations from that trip: everyone around here drives like a wild banshee, and nobody signals.

Budweiser is in Albq. I met up with him last year when I went to the Sandia Classic. Mark that one on your calendar, because it's worth going too.

PJ's Triumph is a good dealer from all I've heard in here and over at trat.net.

Oh, and make sure you go to El Pinto for dinner. The food is top notch and the atmosphere is incredible. Bud took me there on my last visit, and I have to get back someday.

Budweiser!! Yeah. I knew somebody was down here. I'll have to look him up. First I need to get my trusty Speedy down here from Wyoming where I have it stored.

I've seen PJ's advertised in some of the MC mags. That's how I know about them. I will certainly check out the Sandia Classic and El Pinto's. We have only begun to explore this place.

John,
Good to hear your move is almost completed, and that you'll soon be out exploring all those NM backroads.

After you settle in, try to keep late April or early May open for the Prescott AZ run that I'm planning.(see the Rides and Rallies forum)

It'd be great to see ya again.

Cheers,
Dwight

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)
