So last night I watched the recording of the Arsenal - CSKA Moscow match in the Champions League. I gotta say that I haven't seen a failure to finish like that ever since my Mom tried to get me to clean my plate of spaghetti squash when I was 10. How many open net shots did they blow? If I had money on the match, I would've thought it was fixed. Oh well, at least it wasn't a loss...like ManUre losing to FC Copenhagen, but Aresenal needed those points.

And to the rest of you Brits, ex-patriots or not, I'm looking forward to the England - New Zealand rugby match this weekend at Twickenham. From the pregame starting lineups I've seen posted, it looks like the All Blacks are taking this one a bit lightly, with no Dan Carter at fly-half. Should be a tight game with the All Blacks always finding trouble at Twickenham no matter how strong they are on paper.

Oh, and don't give up the results until I have a chance to download this match since it won't be on TV over here. Well, it might be on Setanta, but I'm not switching to Directv from cable just to be able to buy a Setanta subscription.

Unbelievable.
Brilliant game, absolutley brilliant. I was on the edge of my seat and jumped for joy countless times only to see the ball go wide. Jeez, we couldnt buy a goal. Of course all the American Football fans on here will be talking about, '90 minutes of play and no points for either team...how boring is that"

There are occassions when 0-0 games are incredible entertaining and last night was on of them. Ive been talking to a few friends about last nights game and we are all of the same oppinion. Its comming, someone soon is going to get absolutley mullered by Arsenal. I hope its Chelsea.

Well here are some stats.

Actual open goals missed, i counted two. Rosisky being the worsed. It would have been easier to score. Fabragas is miss i think was understandable, he was off balance when he got past the keeper.

This picture says it all

Brilliant game, i recorded it and will watch it again tonight. Maybe they will score tonight

We will still quailfy for the next round so all is OK down at the Grove.

I have to say I haven't seen Arsenal with a work rate like that in quite awhile. Even Henry was going deep into the defensive half to make tackles(and that yellow card he got shouldn't have been given, looked fairly clean from the replay...he got all of the ball first before contact).

Right now they have to be the most frustrating team in the Premiership to support. When it comes together, they're stunning - it's just so rarely coming together right now.Henry might not have minded getting another yellow.. I think that means he misses the next match because of the travesty of the other yellow he received, but that means he doesn't go into the last group stage match with one yellow hanging over him, which if he got another card in that match , would mean missing the first game in the knockout round..

Confused?.. you will be!!!

I think, but could be wrong, but i think you have to get three yellows before you are suspended for a game.

At least that is what Tommy Smith on ESPN was saying last night, but then he gets so much stuff wrong it may be two and your suspended.

Oh no, not at all. It is a joy to support them at the moment. They are so enjoyable to watch. My dad first took me to see the Arsenal when i was 8 years old (1972) the 70's and 80's were much more frustrating. Hell, in the 70's we almost got relegated a couple of times.

No sir, these are very good times and when it all finally clicks i truly believe we will be unstopable. I can see this team doing a Man U and taking the treble.

Both of his yellow cards have been a joke. But then so was the hand ball in the last match. But these things happen. Come the end of the season they all tend to even out.

When Cesc Fabregas is on his game, he's one of my favorite players to watch. Only 19 and they're already putting up highlight reels of his wizardry.

Fabregas is a wonderfull player, and for a 19 years old simple brilliant.

As soon as he toughens up a bit. He is only a little fellow and some of the bigger more physical midfielders bully him off the ball. Once he learns to deal with that part of his game then i think he will go on to be one of the best midfielders in the game.

My favorite game of his was last year when Arsenal played Juventus in the Champions League. Fabregas controlled the midfield and made Patrick Vierra look very ordinary. Which in itself is a very high complement as Vierra is a great player.

That's funny, my Dad took me to see Arsenal in 1971 (I only chose the team because of the Gunners logo and I was mad into toy soldiers) They won 1-0, and then went on to do the Double that year, so, paradoxically, I lost interest, 'cos I figured well, they won everything there is to win, there's no upside..!!??
Twenty long years in the wilderness, and I started getting interested again when Wenger took over and since then it's been a bit of a rollercoaster. Rather than any particular trophy, the 49 game unbeaten run gave me the most pleasure.. they were just magnificent, unbeatable, razor sharp, beautiful to watch, even neutrals would say how awestruck they were.. Here's hoping they get that form back.
Like you say, all the foundations are there, and with the new stadium bringing more cash in, that's going to be a good thing too, even though you sense that Wenger has never actually needed vast amounts of cash to pick a good team.
Surrounded by Chelsea fans here, and their arrogance is a bit hard to take sometimes.

How many times has that been said. For any sport as well.

My first game was at Upton Park against West Ham. The thing i remember about the game, i didnt see a darn thing. We stood on the terraces and all i remember was seeing the butts of people in front of me. But i do remember the excitment of the entire terrace jumping when Arsenal scored. I think that is what stuck with me the most, that and the fact that until that day i never knew my dad swore like a sailor. From that moment on, it was accpetable for me to swear in the presence of my dad if we were within 20 yards of a football field.

Cant remember what the first game at Highbury was. When i was little my dad would take me on birthdays and at christmas. My dad had a season ticket in the East Stand, only gave it up a few years ago. His health stopped him for going to the games. My brother has a season ticket now he sits to the left of the tunnel. I am so jealous. There are very few thing i miss about living in England, but not going to see the Arsenal every other week is still after 13 years, very hard to take. If i ever win the multi million dollar lottery i will buy me a second house in North London and fly over every weekend.
