Just thought someone would be interested...
1972 Tiger 650
Of course it seems to be worth a pretty penny to that guy...

$3800 and no title?? What good is it if there is no title? It won't sell.

Maybe over there but it really doesn't matter in the east. Only need a Bill of Sale.

Check the Facts, No title could be problems, dont know for sure, but why would one need a title if one only needed as bill of sale. DMV would be a real problem.

Yeah, I'd run the VIN thru the local sherrif but DMV/town clerk won't care for vehicles over 30 years old. Used to be 20 years... Just a quick VIN verification to make sure the bill of sale is accurate and you're GTG.

In NH is 20 years or older its title exempt. The cops just have to come out and verify the VIN number. At least for atuos but every state is different.

I believe In CT if a vehicle is over 20 yrs old.No title is requiered.....but I'm sure it's still not easy to reg without one.
The percentage you're paying is too high-priced
While you're living beyond all your means
And the man in the suit has just bought a new car
From the profit he's made on your dreams

That price is not too bad. If the owner does not have a current registration that can be signed over to you (continuity of ownership in the states eyes) then you need a title to do the same. The otherway this bike could be registered is if you have a bill of sale from a dealer, not a private owner. That's where a title service would come in. You have to do an ownership check with the state DMV. If the vehicle is not in the state system and does not come up stolen, then a title service ( Broadway Title) can supply you with a bill of sale that the state would accept as proof of ownership.

If there is no title, the value goes down considerably ! Have a painful title story....beware of ancient liens !!!!! No, title, no buy-unless it is dirt cheap ! spoken from experience.

i belive it all boils down to were one live here in NY it would be very easy to get a registration for that bike we did not have titles for any vehicles till 1972 and in all the years i have had triumph's only 2 i got had paper's to go with them the rest i did like this all i did was get a rubing of the fram vin number and take that to the dmv and i got a new registration in about a week .now if it needed a title i would use a title company.. it use to cost about 75 buck's and take about 2 weeks but i could always get one..the bottom line on all of them was.. they were over 20 year's old and triuphs so no one really cared.. but if they were old HDs i would have to run them though the cop's first

Bethany huh?
I wonder if that's one of Dave Quinn's ?
Title is not an issue in CT for that age of vehicle.
