I have a set of Triumph slant saddlebags on my TBA approximately 1 year 4 months old. They are starting to tear on the top edges where they flip up. Has anyone else experienced a problem with these bags not lasting? For the price paid, I expected alot longer wear than what they apparently are going to give me! I guess I might have to get some hard bags next trip around!

No tearing (yet..knock knock) but I did have a snap pull out. Mine are about the same age.

They are not made from a real quality leather. More like a kinda sorta particle board leather knockoff. Once a tear starts .......

Tuff to repair. I had a new lid made for my right side bag.

I've been planning to post a comment about my disappointment with the so called leather Triumph bags. Yes mine began by tearing at the corners. I took them to a leather shop to be sewn and the fellow there pointed out that they are mostly made of cardboard. He sewed a piece of leather in the corner of the bag and fixed it. Meanwhile the crease where the bag folds to open it is now tearing and I am holding it together with duct tape. One of the bags has begun to shrivel up because one day I drove to work on my bike and had to leave it in the rain all day. Hey, I love my Speedmaster but the Triumph saddle bags are a disgrace. I ordered some new bags today from an aftermarket company. Take my advice don’t by the Triumph bags.
