I can't remember where I read it, but it was on this forum somewhere! but the post was talking about the gap between the gas tank and the top cover, (I think the poster had installed a new tach)and was concerned about the gap and wasn't sure if he had it on right, anyway, someone suggested using the rubber that was for the windshield. I installed a windshield and did'nt put the rubber on. I put the rubber on the cover today and it really does add a 'finished' look to the tank.
Thanks to whoever suggested that, I am new to the site here and have picked-up several good ideas.

Be careful, listening to this lot can be hard on your wallet too. I've spent LOTS of money on things I never would have considered had I not seen or heard of them here first. Sure makes the TBA a lot more fun though
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

Not sure how to upload them. But I'll look into it. I think it turned out nice.

Pokey, click on PhotoPost (upper right) and click upload photos. The pic needs to be less than 200kb or it won't work. If you've downsized the photo (like you would an e-mail attachment), following the prompts will get it in your own gallery. You then need to right click (control-click if you have a Mac) on the large pic in your gallery and select copy image address. You can then add your photo to a post by selecting the image button under the Post writing box and pasting in the address.

Pokey, it's very easy to reduce pictures - just like you would if sending them in an e-mail to someone. Whatever photo managing program you use has a selection to do this or reduce for e-mail. I use Apple's iPhoto, select the piture, then select e-mail and send it to myself so I'll have a reduced copy to post. The PhotoPost in this program is very easy to use.
If using another place for your pics like PhotoBucket then while looking at your picture, copy the address on your browser window, write your post here, and select "Image" in the box below the post box and paste in the address.

OK RamSound, I'm getting there, I've uploaded two pix to the Gallery, but when I right click, all I get is the standard Windows list, ie: save as wallpaper, etc. What am I doing wrong? Sorry it took so long to get this far!

IS this what you are trying to do? You have to open the picture in PhotoPost, make sure it is full size and right click on it. Highlight the Http://...........thing and right click on it to copy. When you get to the post reply section in forums click on "image" and right click paste. Clear as a bell huh?

That's what I was trying to do! Thanks, my Bell's aren't as clear as they use to be! Anyway, this is what the 'windshield rubber trim' looks like installed on the tank cover.
(The tank is not scratched, must have had dirt or glare on the lens of the camera)

It's weird how things like this get lost in the shuffle sometimes. This mod has been going on for years around here. It was one of the first things I did to my bike when I bought it back in June of 2003 after learning about it on the old board.

[image]http://www.bonnevilleamerica.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=5709&size=big&sort=1&cat=500[/image] Not sure if the photo shows, but it is a 1974 Daytona 500, purchased new by me in '74.
