Just ripped open my box of Thunderpipes. I noticed in the TBA service manual the directions suggest 4cc of silicone sealer at the header pipe "joint with the silencer". Is this common practice? Do I need to drag my butt to the auto store?
Thanks.

Like Dazco says, I've done both ways, but if you take the time to put some sealant around, you'll be less likely to get those little black soot deposits on your kickstand at at the joint. A little of the slime on will also make slipping the silencers on a tad easier, too.

Woohoo! I should be getting mine soon as you ordered yours the day before me (we're both on the east coast). I do plan on "red RTV"ing mine with Permatex when the time comes.

Yes. You're better off with the sealant, but it's not the end of the world without.
I'm not sure if those pipes create a low pressure drop zone to draw out the exhaust, but if they do, then the pipes may enhance performance more effectively when sealed to their tuned state.

I would up going for saline solution. They say it's safer.

I guess the answer to this question depends on who is asking
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

Three weeks+ now and still no pipes. They haven't even charged my card yet. Growl. Hope they're worth the wait.

I hope so. Received an answer to my two, one-line "what's the status?" emails (3 days later), looks like they "may" ship closer to the 5-week mark. Having my doubts now about choosing these over the Sceptres, based solely on customer service.
