That's real pretty. To the right buyer, 15 or 20 wouldn't be out of the question, but for some reason unknown, I don't think that rare buyer is in the wings.
I'm calling for an auction end high bid of $9,300 that won't meet reserve.

Am I the only one who thinks it's kinda sad that this bike has never and probably will never be ridden? Don't get me wrong, it's great that someone's preserving history, but if I got hold of it, it'd be on the road at least once.

To me anything over 10 grand is alot of money for an old bike..... come to think about it anything over 10 grand is alot of money to me. There is probably somebody out there with plenty of expendable cash willing to cough up close to $15K for it though......... I guess $13,750

Makes me wonder what this guy would want. Photographed this bike Sunday, Oct 8, 2006.
Dangit. The places I have to go to eat breakfast. All these old motosickles and bikers looking as old as the Stones.

I think it is a waste of a Triumph not to ride it.

no you are not alone i cant figure out why anyone would buy a bike just to put on display.Unless its a museum or somthing.
And i could be wrong but its my understanding that 77 was not a good year for Triumphs.

The company had problems that year, not the Bonnies. Norton-Villiers-Triumph went broke in 1977 and sold the marketing rights to the Meriden Cooperative. The '77 Bonnies mirrored the '76's with the exception of a new color scheme [Pacific Blue (US)/Polychrome Blue (UK) and White].
Here's the '77 I traded-in for the BA ('79 color scheme):

Nobody really wants a virgin..... They're pretty and the thought of the untouched one is mighty enticing, but what would you do with it? Ride it and ruin the very thing that makes it special? Or tuck it away and just think how cool it would be to ride her. I don't have any money for that!! ModelMaker

That special edition came with a certificate signed by the Queen herself. A bro-in-law had one: sweet looking bike.

Needs some oil putting in her and gas, and riding. She was made for hitting the open roads, not stuck in a shed.. Thats my two cents worth...

It's a beauty but I'd rather ride it then store it away or trailer to a show.

Quite agree. The Barber Museum has a very impressive collection of bikes and most of them get ridden around the track every once in a while just to keep the cogs moving. Thats my kind of museum.
And, excuse me for saying this. But as nice as this bike is. Its just another Bonnie albeit with a rare original color scheme. Not exactly a one off is it.
Buy it and ride it. Thats what it was built for.
Now, i will raise you Entire Comic Collection for a Pokey Man Card collection.

He may be a collector.
I know a guy that is & a VERY SMALL PART of his collection includes a 67,68 & 69 bonnieville with the highest having 11kms (6 miles)on the clock. He starts them every 6 months & changes the oil.
He also has every BSA goldstar ever made as well as a number of early BSA,s.
Yes,,,,, his shed is alarmed

If you have the money............. you buy two. One for keeping, on for riding. Probably what happened here....... just a guess though.

Just shows that somthing like this is only realy worth what sombody else is willing to pay for it.
I can't imagaine buying somthing like this.
My first question would be..."dose it run?" He'd he'd have to say "well i realy dont know." "ok can we fire her up?" "NO NEVER" "ok have a nice day".
