I looked at one in Melbourne. They looked good, but I am not convinced about that exhaust. It just looks in the way. I liked Steve MacQueen in the Great Escape but it really a different bike. A bit big to throw around. Looks good though. A mate of mine's father was actually involved with the Great Escape, I will have to ask him if there was a motorcycle involved.

Oh the Humanity!!!!!!!! A ute is a 6 or eight cylinder(only) two or three seat utility vehicle. NOT A PICKUP!! Born and bred in Australia and exported to the world, where is was corrupted into the current versions yanks call pick ups. We do allow Land Cruiser and Patrol drivers to call theirs utes but basically it is a Ford or Holden 6 or 8. Over here we actuaaly race them in the BR Ute (BRUTE) series. See my photoposts for the dog, the bike and the ute. I could throw in some croc and cyclone ones as well I suppose. I had to work with a bloke from Milwaulkee(is that correct), He loved them and wanted to try and get one to the US. There were rumours they were trying to export them but I don't know what happened there.
Cheers

Sorry mate, but that info is incorrect. A ute, is.....A Teenager.
Yes indeed. Dont belive me, watch "My Cousin Vinny" However, i highly recommend that you do not drink anything while watching it. Not unless you want to spend the entire movie mopping up what comes out of your nose. We are talking side splittingly funny here.

Philistines, A ute is a ute, I know the Poms have small versions of them, so I guess the yanks can have big versions. We do allow the F250 7 litre diesels to be called a ute, though it is closer to a truck, and the small subaru brumby is another exception. Check my pickies and see for yourselves. Cheers

No man...you're thinking Yute, not ute. Matt and I are yutes, which gives us permission to get belligerant at all the rallies.

Hiya Feral
Mine was great, I just wanted something quicker that I could tour on.
The exhausts aren't a problem at all.
I had the off-road pipes fitted which sound fantastic!
It's a nippy bike and I really enjoyed it, as I say, I wanted a different bike is all.
As a second 'fun' bike, it was great.

They allow Yutes in to the rallies. Oh my, and i thought rallies were for grown ups.
I knew there was a reason why i didnt go to these things.

I read somewhere he refused to ride the BMW they had for him because of his deal to race Triumphs, so they made a Triumph look as much like a German bike as they could. I don’t know what model it was but here is a photo of it.

TT 650 made to look like a German bike: http://www.mcqueenonline.com/thegreatescapetriumph.htmMcQueen did most of the tiding (even dressed as a German in some of the scenes). Bud Elkins did the jump.

There you go. A 650. The way he through it around you would think it was smaller. (Where are the wheels on the Utah uni mascot?) Utes are also really good when you need to take your bike from Adelaide to North Queensland.
