As most of you probably remember, I had experienced a loss of oil pressure, which lead to the engine trying to seize, while coming back from a road trip.

As it turned out, the factory nylon oil pump gears had stripped, causing the loss of oil pump pressure, and it went downhill from there. Well, just over a month ago, got the bike back after a complete bottom-end rebuild (picked up by Triumph), after just over three months, and I'm just really glad to have my ride back. During those three months with my bike in the dealership, I had the opportunity to do alot of things to the engine that I ordinarily wouldn't get the chance to do. I found a machine shop in Maryland that ended up making bronze oil pump gears patterned off the originals, I had all of the exhaust Jet-Hot Coated, along with the cheese graters, and footpeg brackets, I had my dealership install their proprietary Big Bore Kit, and I had the crankshaft and rods sent to Falicon Crank Services in Clearwater, FL for some massaging. Here are some pics of the bike, after I finally got around to cleaning the thing up a bit.
And a decent shot of my new D.I.D. "Bling" Chain with a new Black sprocket from the brentish one:
And finally a side shot with the cheese grater and footpeg bracket visible:
At the end, I spent almost $2800 on the all upgrades, here's a more specific break-out if anyone is interested:
Bronze Oil Pump gears: $385.25
Jet Hot Coating of Exhaust and Trim stuff: $231.12
Falicon Crank and Rod Work: $786.36
Big Bore Kit and Install Labor: $985
New Barnett Clutch Springs: $16
Then another couple of hundred bucks for a new gearshift shaft (original was bent after bike was dropped 2 years ago) a new turn signal flasher, the gallon of scam oil and filter, and then a few miscellaneous bolts.
My sincere hope is that this bike will go quite along time without any significant problems or maintenance requirements, the big bore kit sure is fun to ride though!
If anyone has any questions or curiousities about my experience, please don't hesitate to ask!
Glad to be back on the road again
