Hauled our bikes out to Knoxville and rode around the Smokey Mountain area for 4 days. Full fall colors were a week or two away. The weather was great.

Rode the Dragon best I could with my luggage piled up on the back. Mostly in second and third, wrapped it up to red line in second quite a bit. Scraped my right foot peg twice. Rode it both ways. The second pass, I locked up the rear a couple of times in a corner- definitely gives you an adrenaline rush when that happens!

Saw a bike in the ditch and helped another pull his out of the ditch. He had some $$ damage.

Heck of a good trip overall.

Some of the videos and pics of the crashes there are crazy. Glad to hear your paint isn't scratched.

I know what ya mean about doing the dragon with a loaded bike. I did the dragon in May on the way down to the GA Rally. It was rough on some of those hair pins. I could feel the back end giving away because of the weight.

It's actually a 04 SM with an America tank I got off E-Bay. Started off as yellow. My wife has a black America, so I can change to three different colors in 1/2 hour.

That's my friend's 1995? 1100 ZRX. He left me behind all 4 days, but not as much as the Sportster and Low Rider we rode with. He told me more than once that he was surprised I kept up with him as well as I did.

My brother just sold his '00. I probably should have bought it. Great all-purpose bike and still scary fast.
