Hey all out there - I'll be in the San Diego area in a week for some MUCH needed R&R. As long as my chain and sprockets get replaced this week (that seems to be a theme lately - are we all hitting that magic number of miles at the same time!!!??) I'll be riding the bike over. Also, provided the weather at least somewhat cooperates - meaning no snow predictions here!!! Anyone in the area, I will be up for a ride at least one day while there - any suggestions or company? I'll be in PB with a lot of family, but we are a friendly bunch - mostly. PM me and I'll get you a number if you want to make contact. Even if its just meet for coffee or I'd even buy a pitcher of beers for all at the beach. I'll be there 10/18-22. Becky

I won't be in San Diego, but I will be at the Rocky Point Rally in a month. Hope to see you there!

Becky, I just installed my third chain Saturday morning at 46,000 miles. My first one lasted 28,000 and I replaced the chain and left the sprocket on. Second chain lasted 18,000 miles, so at least the front sprocket needs to be changed out too. My rear sprocket is stock and all measurements are good. I'm gonna order a polished rear sprocket from Brent soon. Enjoy Sandy Eggo - wish we could join you.

Becky, I'm trying to determine if I can take a day off next week to go riding with you. I did Telegraph Canyon, Otay Lakes, Sunrise Highway to Julian and then back to SD through Romona 2 weeks ago and it was a beautiful ride. I'd recommend it. Unfortunately, my camera batters were dead but I'll tell you all about it over drinks at SGYC. You'll meet my wife Jo Ann and daughter Stephanie. Stephanie's spending a couple night on the boat while attending a convention in SD so she can join us for drinks. Bill

Baaaadddddd practice !!!!!!!!!! That is like replacing a tapered whell bearing on your car and using the old bearing race. Pre-mature wear ! This is why your 2nd chain only lasted 18K. You now have 46K on your original rear speocket and it's good ?????? What are you measuring ?? Do yourself a favor and install new sprockets and new chain !!!!!
Just giving some good advice.
Buuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrpppppppppp !!!!!!

I plan on it. I did put a new front sprocket on. I am ordering a rear one from Brent and new cush drive rubbers too.
