Hey guys, I was thinking of a way to make that cam chain not whine so loud and I use Lucas in all my cars and its awsome stuff, I had it fix a collapsed lifter and quiet down many motors so why not give it a try.. Any input??

I don't know much about the Lucas products except that many use the stuff in cars and often rave about it. What I do know is that wet, multi-plate clutches are often sensitive to oil additives. I would be cautious to say the least.

You may not have to scrap the idea. I'm pretty sure there has been some talk about it here in the past and reports from some who use it saying very good things about it. I may be wrong, but i seem to recall that. So do a forum search for "lucas" and i think you'll find the thread(s) i am recalling.

According to lucas you can use up to 10 percent oil cap. with wet clutches on motorcycles. More on dry clutch bikes.

here ya go...... http://www.bonnevilleamerica.com/forums/...=true#Post21856By the way, i tried i bike oil by valvoline that was the same weight as the mobil 1 i normally use, but it's a dino oil. Or at least part if not full dyno. the lack of slickness compared to full synth had my bike running quite noticably slower in accelleration. So much so that i was very unhappy with the performance and dumped this oil after only a few days and went back to mobil 1 Vtwin. the difference was immediatly apparent and i was happy with the performance again. i only mention that because this Lucas stuff may cause the same thing. Just a guess, but i imagine it must be thicker and not as slick as full synth.

dino oil is plain old petroleum based (non-synthetic) oil.
I have friends that ride old Triumphs and new ones, and swear byt the Lucas oil stuff. It will not effect your clutch used properly.
A word to the wise is not necessary. It is the stupid ones who need the advice.
