I'd like to give a big shout out to Pat Whitbeck for all the hard work and time spent getting my bike back together. It was one heck of a big job that I would never have been able to tackle at all without his assistance. (read: he did EVERYTHING!!! - sometuimes twice, occasionally three times to get it perfect) And if shop bench labor rate hours were applied I would have had a second mortgage. Pat... You da man! for real. Also a huge thanks to Matt Lessard for his help and for caging the beast for the past 5 months. Also much appreciation for the assistance from Ed Smith (Biker) The Western NY boys are the best! Also thanks to Jane Whitbeck for putting up with our crap until the wee hours of the AM (more than a few times)

I got to ride the 905 big bore (yes 905 - see Pat for details) home yesterday in the pouring rain and it was a glorious rain indeed.

From the saddle...see ya...gotta go..gotta ride...

P.S. A big thumbs up to Peter Carleo for supplying all the required parts to complete the job. Thanks Triumph Corporate!

Its the least we can do for a brother, I think I speak for all of us when I say were just glad to have you back in the saddle. Ride fast and take chances! (while keeping a degree of safety )

Phil, that's an "ask Pat" ...if I explain you'll most likely be more confused.

When the motor grenaded, the piston broke loose as did two of the valve heads, They flopped around on top of the cylinder and banged up the top of the head pretty good. There were a bunck of large dings and gouges in it. So, when Steve Seely did the machine and valve work, he welded/ground/cleaned it all up as much as possible. Now, according to Steve, these remaining small "discrepencies" have resulted in an additional 1cc of area in the right cylinder. So, now it is a 905cc.

A word to the wise is not necessary. It is the stupid ones who need the advice. Pat

Wouldn't that just make the combustion chamber bigger? Increasing the bore or stroke is the only way to increase actual engine displacement. Am I confused here?

The 905 bit wasn't meant to be taken seriously. A lost in translation moment is all Mike Sr.
