Finally bit the proverbial bullet and ordered up me own set
of Thunderbike pipes. Yep, they do what they say. Feels
like a different bike. Pretty salty, but I'll soon
forget about that(right after I get Visa paid off). A little louder than I like, but as my hearing fails, noise won't be an issue. If anyone is on the fence, I say go for 'em.

i like em, but i wish they were about 30% quieter. That would be perfect to my ear.

I would say that they were the best sounding pipes at the rally. I would say the Bubs were second.

i would say you are a very smart man

it would have been cool to line us up in pipe order: the BuBs, Epcos, Spec Spare, Scepter, ThunderBike, BikerEd, etc. and fire up in sequence. Talk about Thunder...music to my ears

I guess you get what you pay for as I think the Thunderbird pipes are the most expensive?

Just ordered a set with some of the extra cash I made in the middle east. It was a toss up between the Sceptres and Thunderbikes.

How much time waiting on delivery am I looking at?

Regards,

Tom

Yipes, just received an email from the Thunderbike people in New Zealand. They're out of stock and expect a 3 week delay before they receive new stock and shipment takes place. Hold off on your orders for 3 weeks or so guys if you're considering buying.

Mine did not have them on the pipes, they were two seperate little peel off stickons. I have them stuffed in a drawer somewhere until I find the correct place for them.

Three week wait? That sucks but the pipes are worth it!

I removed the name badges with a piece of twine. Wasn't a problem at all.

later,
Hugh

How was the finish under the badges, how long were they on? Think I would like to have them 'go away'
Thanks for the twine idea.

Wait a minute you could not have missed hearing my pipes! I think they sound pretty healthy. They were the straight cut pipes made down at a shop in Port Clinton, PA. (DBA's) Some people thought they were loud but they were the ones behind me!

The finish under the badges was fine. The badges are glued on so once you get the badges off just use a little bit of goo gone or wd40 to remove any excess glue.

The badges where on the pipes for at least 5k miles.

Hugh

Just for the record, you can tell them you want them w/o badges and they'll take them off for you.
