You lucky bugger!
Have a pleasant and safe trip man.
I said at the NorEast, there's just something about seeing a bike loaded with a guy's gear ready for a trip ....

Thanks to all of you for the wishes of a great trip. As far as knowing the exact trip, it is not written in stone, just a general way of going. That changed a little this morning with a phone call from a friend near Salt Lake.... seems it is really cold there so I will head more to the south out of NV, I will go through Kingman, Flagstaff, Gallup (this will be about all the Interstate I will ride) Durango, Aztec, Clovis on the way to Burnet (Burn-it) TX. The trip back I am going to take some smaller highways between I20 and I10 with only one planned stop near Dell City TX.

Have a good trip and be safe! I can't think of anything I'd rather be doing.

Let the weather and the wind dictate the route. Much better that way! Have a great trip Jack.

Jack - I PM'd you my cell number if you make it thru Flagstaff. I may not be able to ride, depending on when you are here (I won't be able to get off work next week due to trial), but can probably offer a beer at the end of a day. Have a fun trip! Its really warm here today! Becky

Becky, Thanks for the offer, but I was already gone on the road. I got in Flagstaff kinda later than expected anyway, and just got fuel and moved on to Winslow to spend the night.
I made the trip and back home. A lot of wind most of the way there, especially through NM. I did manage to miss the main storms in all directions, only hit a sprinkle for about 15 minutes coming home leaving Pecos, TX. As soon as I passed the Great Divide on I-20 there was near clear skies and the wind was all but gone. I had a great trip and visit with family and rode 9 days of the 3 weeks traveling to the different destinations. I did have to change my trip home, had to thread the needle through the storms and wind events. I had to take the Interstate most of the way home. The only real nervousness I had was just past Pecos I hit reserve at 122 miles (pretty good head wind) with no near town ahead. I turned around (illegal turn in the median through the grass on I-20) and made it back to Pecos. I filled up at the first station and it took just under 4.4 gals. I must have been running on fumes and the head wind I was bucking was pushing me back was the only reason I made it (whew!!!).
