I have Stainless Steel pipes (Sceptre) that I seem to have gotten some small (freckles) spots of tree sap on. Normal soap and water doesn't seem to remove it. Any suggestions on what to use to clean them?

I've cleaned mine several times with Bon Ami.... can is quite insistent that people have been cleaning their cookware for years with it and it hasn't scratched yet. Had some kind of gunk on my pipes that nothing would touch so took the plunge with the Bon Ami and presto.... cleaned them right up and no scratches.
